Finished the complete interior to LED conversion yesterday (with the excellent writeup from Ed Scherer). There is not a single light bulb left inside. WOW what a difference!!! The car looks like it should have been delivered by the factory in 1992...
Thanks Ed!!!!

Drifting
Drove down to Kevin Lacy's garage for a timing belt tension check he wanted to perform (Kevin did the timing belt and water pump for the previous owner), and some help with removing and repairing the leaking #5 (PET diagram) AT cooler hose. This is the short hose from the top right rear corner of the radiator to the fluid/air cooler mounted in front of the radiator. The hose was leaking from under the crimped fasteners. Removed the original hose from the car, cut off the old crimped fittings, then replaced the original low pressure hose with a section of heavier duty and thicker 3/8ths inch Gates high pressure power steering hose.
Kevin is a very good teacher and fun to work on cars with....and I got a tour of the 1979 Euro he's bringing back to life.
Very rewarding and educational day.
Above: The leaking hose #5
To check TB tension and remove the leaking #5 hose, we removed the right timing belt cover, distributor, two small coolant hoses, and the radiator hoses and fan pack.
The hose #5 fitting on the rear of the radiator (below the larger upper radiator hose connection).
The hose #5 fitting on the fluid/air AT cooler up front (red ATF marks the spot)
Kevin uses 15 ton "house jacks" (what I call them), one at each jack point. I like them and they have lots of other uses...wish I took a picture of the beasts.
Front #5 fitting reinstalled with new Gates hose and a clamp. Rear is similar. No more leak.
The 1979 Minerva Blue Euro. The CIS fuel distributor and the spider intake and other details were a big contrast to the same systems on the S4. Pretty remarkable how much change took place under the hood in just 10 years.

Drove her on her first 100 mile round trip. She was running hot under load the first way which was very strange. Let her cool down and relieved some pressure from the cap. Probably trapped air. On the way back she was running better.
I had dropped the coolant in the radiator and refilled. Letting the trapped air out from the overflow tank was probably it. Measure at 185 F at upper and 156 on lower rad hoses. A little above the first white line on the gauge.

120,000 Mile Service at Sean's
ATF service - fluid and filter kit
Oil service - Mobil 1 15W-50 and filter
A/C service - 2 cans R-12
CV joint service - rebuilt axle with new boots and greased
Replaced front brake pads, rotors and bleed all brake fluid
Replaced Bosch spark plugs
Replaced passenger power window switch
Replaced air filter
Unfortunately no pics - trouble with my I-phone. Maybe Sean will post.
Noticeable effects - quite ride, cold AC, window works and no more brake pedal vibration!
Next month: Cam refresh after powder coating & new spark plug wires!

Finally got all the electrics sorted, been slowly going through all lights, fuse panel refresh and just generally chasing down bad earths and loose wires, thankfully the Australian climate is kinder to the 928 than elsewhere

Bought a nice set of Carrera III 18" 8 and 10s for the GT. I really like the look of these on the 928. Had a set on the 89 but had sold it with them on the car. Wheels are very clean, and came off a 2008 carrera. One wheel has minor road rash and I am repairing and repainting this weekend.

The insides of the wheels had 6 years of junk, cosmoline etc, so decided to give them a good cleaning before having tires switched over. Getting the adhesive left behind from the weights was a real pain .
This will help to keep them clean going forward.
Took about 3 hours and some serious elbow grease, but done!

Installed new PS reservoir and return hose. Thanks to Sean Ratts (via Roger Tyson) for the tip on using a PS pump supply hose to make a return hose from the "cooler" to the reservoir to get the correct ID hose. Also installed my rebuilt MAF. Now to go for a drive.

Installed o new quadrant to throttle body cable on the GTS, took all wheels off and raised the car in prep for the motor mount project once we get a little weather and the garage isn't so cold.
Also moved the battery charger off the GTS and onto the S4 batt........anyone use a batt tender on multiple batterys?

did
Bob- plans for your Cup Is?
Today: worked on rear defrost- found bad fuse. Presumably that is more symptom than disease, we'll see.
Also, some cosmetic work.
More on bike, than on 928. Too many projects.

Started getting the tail light warning. Comes and goes sometimes. But sure enough, this time the left is out. Removed the lens, pulled the bulb and of course it's fine.
So fiddled with the fuses. Did a little spinning and back in business.
