Change mechanics.
I do most of the work myself because I am a poor high school student .
I think the reason he doesn't like them is because he had to fix and restore one that had an engine fire.
For any serious task like TB/WP I take it to a factory trained 928 mechanic I know near me, he knows
these cars well and was one of the first to go to Germany to be trained on these cars. He even likes it because of my story with the car. For any of you in the area he owned Performance+.
I just drove it around today trying to figure out what makes a knocking noise inside of my doors at certain RPM's, I think it's a loose connector inside of the doors, easy to get to because the door panels are off.

Just finished installing passenger lock and fixed the rusted out window regulator. Thanks for all the tech tips here. Definately saving me some cash. Opened up the window motor. cleaned out all the rust and gave it a little love and works perfectly. My '80 Euro is slowly coming back to life.

Fixed my hot start problem.
Replaced rear fuel damper which filled the 'Mighty Vac' with fuel on testing the diaphragm.
Start fine with a turn of the key and no throttle again.

Picked up my new wheels and tyres.........they replace the old CIIIs as I trashed the LH front on a curb so will be selling the other 3 which will need new rubber.

Door Handle
Installed a new one on the driver side, well not the actual handle from the outside of door but the part that the handle connects to, on the inside. But then after that was done and was installing door panel I tore speaker wire at hinge area and accidentally touched wires to light and blew fuse to interior lights.......so.........I'm not done yet.......wish me luck.

The one with stings are better so if you lose one, it will be easier to find!

Schocki reminded me that in Converting Porsche 928 Interior Lighting to LEDs (as of rev. 0.7, the latest revision as I write this), the very last page contains: "[TBA: seat position memory switch backlighting]". He was curious if I had ever addressed that.
The answer is no.
But I did dig into it this evening (after Schocki told me that it's easy to pop out and unplug the switch assembly).
Partially disassembling it is as far as I got today. Given what I found, I need to sleep on it to determine whether or not I want to proceed with further disassembly. Converting the single incandescent bulb to a red LED and the three yellow LEDs to white LEDs won't be as easy as most of the rest of the conversions I did. Further disassembly (to gain access to the back of the PCB) won't be so easy if my suspicions of how these remaining parts are held together is correct.
Even this amount of disassembly is a little risky, as it would be very easy to break the plastic pieces if you're not careful. I'll eventually share the secrets.
I am really hoping to complete this, though, as I believe that little incandescent lamp is the only one left in my car (interior and exterior) aside from the four H3 halogens in the fog/driving lights.

All kidding aside, I got rid of an annoying buzzing in my center console. All I had to do was put a piece of sound deadener on the inside of the lid of the ash tray.

Pulled cam cover on ds to put in oil pin plugs as I am having low oil pressure. Got 3 of 4 bolts off the rear cam bridge, stripped the last one and had to take a dremel to cut it off. Of course it was the one right next to power booster. Not fun. Started on the other side, and low and behold broke the very first cam bolt I tried- snapped clean off. What the hell. Seems like every bolt I touch is froze or close to it. Hopefully I can get this stub out when I pull the other cover. Going to dress up the covers, man that top end looks brand new, that's what regular oil changes and 85K miles gets you.
