So does "keys for classics" and the next person to drive this OP's car..

Kidding aside not a good idea to post pictures of your keys.

Default Clutch Mc

put in the clutch master cylinder & blue hose, and brake booster while the engine is still out. Why did nobody tell me that putting in the clutch MC is such fun?

Replaced the MAF connector with a kit from Roger and also replaced the short U fuel hose with GB hose. Very nice quality. The old hose was only on there a year and a half but I must have nicked it during and intake refresh. Thing was lame compared to the GB line.

My cousin and brother came up from NC and my cousin loved the car, so I put the battery in and was going to take him for a quick spin. My brother decided to film it with his phone. Excuse the loping. I have to do a top end refresh. Toward the end of the video a neighborhood kids says "Whoa that's a bad bleeping Porsche!" . Kid has good taste.

Nice weather yesterday so the cover came off, un-plugged the exhaust and pulled [almost] all the mothballs from the engine and engine bay. Casual dash down 97 for about 50 miles, turned around and came back. Most fun: Rickety-raspy sounding WRX sitting on the back bumper, bouncing on the throttle as we were climbing a hill behind a semi at about 55. Posted for 55, so really no problem. Truck driver signals for us to pass, and we both start on by. From six lengths back, I'm a bit over 100 in third as I pass the truck cab. The WRX... wasn't. I slid back into the right lane and slowed to 60 or so. After what seemed like a long time, he finally came by. I was just trying to minimize my passing exposure time yer onner... No throttle-bouncy from him now. Nice drive. Back in the garage clean and covered again.

, you need to weld the socket to a 5 foot piece of railroad track and have a trained elephant stand on it to break that nut loose.

It would have to be a really good ratchet to survive 300 ft.lbs. Go with a 3/4" or even 1" breaker. After reading about all of the problems people have had, I was pleasantly surprised how standing on my 3ft 3/4" breaker made short work of the nuts on a car exposed to winter salt in its history (my '88).

Speaking of winter, today I did another leatherique treatment of part of the seats of my '90 that sits on a trickle charger in my garage while it is -12C outside. I have found that repeated applications of a thin layer of leatherique restorer, every few days over a period of weeks, does wonders. Now I am down to just a few areas that need a bit more softening. When you have months to spare, there is no need to slather the stuff on, put it under plastic and bake it. In fact the 'slow-and-cool' approach seems to work best, for me at least - always assuming you have several months when you won't be sitting on the seats...

Swapped out the leaky power steering reservoir and the hoses. I cut off the crimped-on clamp for the return line with a Dremel, as has been described in various threads on here, and used a cut-down version of the supply hose that I got from Roger as my new return. For the supply, it was really just the top part of the hose that was bad, and I've read that sometimes people just cut that part off and connect it...but the top part is flared, and after I cut that off I couldn't get the thin part to fit around the barb on the reservoir. However there is just no way I can get the entire hose off at the pump without removing the alternator (some have said they did, I have no idea how) and I don't want to do that right now...so I cut the supply back a little further, and connected the flared end from the donor hose for the new return via a brass male-to-male hose barb connector thing (not sure what the proper name for that is), clamped it down good...seems secure and no leaks. I still have the full hose that I will put on there next time I have to take the alternator off for some reason.

Took it for a nice drive before the coming storm. Noticed the many slow weeps on the cam covers weeping a bit more with the new Mobil 1 15W-50. Decided to take inventory of the cam cover parts in the kit I've had for over a year--- making sure there were 26 of the little metal washers. So looks like trans mounts and cam cover refresh in February.
