Mostly because my camera skills suck...

Also replaced relay in Sean's test head unit with new one, tested and all good! The old relay in his was melted so much that one of the legs was gone! While I had repaced the relay in mine a couple weeks ago I went ahead and swapped a new, smaller one, into it today so the relay is hidden inside the HVAC head unit. Also put a resistor on the power wire to the LED which lights up my HVAC fan ****.. damned thing was so bright before it was liking having a flash light shining through it!

I put a new relay in my ac head unit per dwaynes instructions. Hans gave a push to get me past a tough spot cause my 90 head unit is not the same.

Jeff - if your 90 had a yellow relay instead of the earlier blue Gruner one, there is a direct replacement available for it in a suitable rating - no need to add wires etc. There's a thread here on Rennlist by a UK chap about the part numbers.

If it was a blue gruner, then there is no replacement, hence the wires and out-board relay.

Pulled the CE panel out of the GTS, did the cleaning thing. Brass brush in the dremel for fuse and relay contacts, scratch brush on all the terminals, Deoxit D5 in the relay bases, and Stabliant 22A on everything during reassembly.

I am bummed because when I pulled the wiring harness for the engine I broke two of the little top tabs on the two CE plugs that come out with the ignition harness.

Hell, I broke at least 3. Strangely all the broken ones were brown.

Thankfully that's the last component that requires any attention in the back bay.

On to the clutch bearing / pack, and clutch hydraulics tomorrow.

Getting there...finally.
I take it this is the rear wiper motor? I am working the front wiper mechanism and motor now. The wiping action was too slow. When I dismantked it, there wasn't any play to speak of in the mechanism but the wiperblade axles did have the chromium worn off one of them. My local garage advised me to just grease it up again. The brushes in the motor looked fine to me so I did not replace them. Keeps me wondering why the wiping was so slow. My car is a '78 with approx 90000 miles on it but neglected in the last years of the PO so lots of work on it.

I got the dash fixed and back in !!! blue leds even work! And she still runs! Woo Hoo!!!
Did not enjoy it much, but in the end the cure was simple - bend the contact blades in the connectors, cos they are too d@mn soft.

Changed the oil and cleaned all the grounds in the engine bay while I was at it. In preperation of driving to Eureka Springs, AR next weekend for belated anniversary trip with the wife... WOW! Cannot beleive it has been (she has put up with me) 28 years!

PO'd though that I misordered the Valentine 1 remote display when meant to get the remote control unit.. BLECH! Means possibly no V1 for the trip!

Gonna install the LED converted 3rd brake light today too... Only other thing left is driver carpet piece install, had installed new carpet about a month ago but botched the cutting of the hole for the hood release so had to order a new one.. :P

Good Morning all.

I got to spend some time tuning the Tec-4 GT system yesterday after work and I am happy to say WOW! what a difference now that its tunable.

I have the fuel mixture where it sits around 12.5 to 13.5/1 on or off load and I am still not using the VE table or the EGO sensor (O2)
I am very pleased.

I still think I can get it to rev harder and faster by fine tuning the timing but I have to check the flight recorder and reset the knock sensor values.

Today should be a good drive to work.

Put my super clamp on the flex plate. Had to use a crows foot to get the torque wrench on the bolts.
