Went to Sean's to replace fuel pumps and fuel filter..

Internal pump looked good, no broken hose, though some corrosion. Testing proved not so much as it was non functional. This was causing after long drives and then stop and go traffic for the external pump to overheat when airflow reduced which in turn caused fuel starvation and engine dying..

Looks like it threw up!

while I was there soldered broken traces on another 928's instrument cluster Sean was workingon

Forgot.. also had front windshield tinted, well not tinted as it is optically clear. Cuts down on UV and IR right at 50%. Makes a DEFINITE difference in heat!

I needed to fix a front signal light to get my state inspection sticker. Cleaned and tightened all the light contacts.

WYAIT, did some cleaning, and a quick fix on the cracked wheel well cover with a soldering iron.

Scheduled for Sunday (unless Irene is a total bitch), my first big 928 project: intermediate plate adjustment. Wish me luck!!!

A&W had a classic car night to support MS...........the 928 doesnt quite fit in with the American muscle cars but accepted in this small community.

Good cause.......good times.

Checked/adjusted the front wheel bearings. Then took the two front wheels and two new Conti Extreme Contact DWS from Tire Rack (ordered yesterday, arrived today, 225/45-17 $277 the pair delivered) and had local shop mount/balance. Now to put some miles down and get a fresh alignment.

Installed window switch overlay icons from hookedoncars. I goofed one up, but the rest came out really well. definitely a cheap restoration item that works.

Moved the GT outside so I could change the TB on the Hyundai Getz. So far I'm 3 hours in and the old belt is off and the new one on. First one I've done on the Getz but that dance holding a piddling little belt just didn't feel the same as rite of passage that a 928 TB job is.

I'ld rather have done a 928 TB, there is like no space at all under the hood on the Getz - and you're ever conscious that the motor and trnas are supported by only one motor mount and a floor jack -you have to remove the other MM to get the covers off.

From above

and below.

Got my heads and cams on. Took there hours to do he torque on the head right and install the cams. Washers would turn. Start over. Repeat. Wife was helping but she couldn't get a grip on the washer with awl. Got ER done though. No spun washers in the end!

Painted wiper arms and exhaust tips a nice flat black. Cleaned and anti-seized the alignment eccentrics. Pulled the RF rotor/hub in prep for re-packing wheel bearings tomorrow.
