more pics from tonite- got the trans in, and dropped the motor in- right now its about where it will be when mounted, currently sitting on some wood over the cross member. With the throttle body off everything clears the hood, we'll see how the new throttle body works out when it gets here.

Looks like you have a manual steering rack in there. What size tire are you planning to run up front? I was wondering what would be the optimal tread width for comfortable steering effort. I was planning on 225 with 16in wheels.

currently the car has 235/17's on the front. Ive driven one w/ 245's on the front and it steered well, just more effort when the car is stopped.

Default Nice work!!

Looks great guys! Have you removed the reinforcement from the back of the hood for throttle body clearance? I will get your TB and other parts shipped Monday so you can do your final clearance check next week. The manual rack definitely allows the engine to sit lower than a power rack; no x-member shimming required. Keep up the good work.

well the reinforcement is still in there, and the lump on top of the intake is just touching the hood. We are thinking of cutting the bump down on the intake to clear, and perhaps doing something w/ the throttle body.

Hey Tom, would it be possible to mount the throttle body somewhere else other than the front of the intake? Obviously we'd have to get the throttle cable, TPS harness, and some vacuum lines to it, but it appears that the throttle body will be the real challenge to get the hood to clear. We were thinking about mounting it at the end of the intake pipe right after the cone filter.

Greg, I'll look into that. Sounds cool, though. So, does this mean my car will be a hotrod? I can hear the chebby jokes flying out of Dan's mouth already. But, funny thing was, no more than 10 seconds after dropping the motor in my car, he was already calling it HIS car.

What, are you accusing me of stealing it off of your car? J/k, thanks for the great deal on it. I still need to figure out how to mount it and modify the inlet/outlet ports, but it looks like it will fit really well in the intercooler spot.

i think the endtanks are large enough you could drill a hole and weld an AN bung onto it...and then just plug the banjo hole.

or just cut the tanks off and make new ones with an fittings.

Alan,
You could move the TB but if you remove a small section of the reinforcement on the back of the hood the TB I send you should fit. You could move the TB with a custom adapter and I have thought of doing that myself when I switch from my LS6 intake to a FAST intake.
Tom
