Since i have decided I am going to keep my 968 Sport for a while now [sold my 993], I am going to be making some Club modifications / upgrades [downgrades??] to it..

Starting with a Rear Seat Delete, and a homemade Shelf.. Having found a very generous and helpful RLer who posted dimensions of said Club Sport Shelf, I went to a local Timber Yard and a suitable 10mm Plywood offcut for a few £..! Will post progress on here..

Where did you source struts that were less stiff? Mine were sacked so I replaced them a couple of years ago but now they are very stiff which has me worried.

I finished wiring up the Spal fan I've been working on for the past month or so. I basically replaced everything except for the stock fan switch. Everything works flawlessly and better than stock. Now I can get out and drive it more without worrying about overheating. Also a bonus, since I redid the battery clamp, it seems to run better now, probably a better connection.

Chopped out the rollcage's top "X" and upper side intrusion bar. The top bars were too close to the head (builder's error) regardless of how low I drop the seat. The door bars just made life a drag.

does that help improve the glacial speed of a window motor? (pre-global warming glaciers)

My son's drivers side window is powered by a snail and lubed with cold molasses... might try this at some point just in case it could help!

So THAT's what it's supposed to drive like. Apparently bought the car with blown front struts. Just road tested the second replacement and WHOOEEE!!! I thought it was fun before.

after 7 years of mixed and matched interior I found a complete pascha interior on eBay for good money. The drivers seats was torn so a bit more hunting round and I found a spare drivers seat with a broken frame but the cover in good shape so bought that. An afternoon swapping seat components over and no more interior OCD

After much procrastinating I finally pulled the gauge cluster and fixed the odometer, hadn't driven much since it stopped working so added 3,000 miles (maybe drove 2,000 while inoperable). Ended up it was not the gear (had already been replaced within 25 miles of it failing some time back) it was the gear which the electric motor engages had some slop so it was not engaging the gear which actually moves the trip/odometer. Super thin washer and all fixed up.

I also redid the LED strip which lights up the gauge face itself, much better!
Next project will be replacing bulbs in HVAC and associated buttons in it with LED's... maybe next week..

Pulled back the car cover, sat in it, made racing noises and covered her back up until the weather gets a little bit better.

I’ve just pulled mine and will replace both gears even though the smaller one is the only obviously damaged part. Guess it’s worth checking it out carefully on reassembly from what you say, thanks. How do you find the LED strip? Any part type you’d recommend?

Steve
