Put the NA up on jack stands to do timing belt and water pump... It's been 3.5 years since I did the belt and no history on the WP. engine rebuilt in 2006 according to service records.
Water pump had a casting date of '95....it still worked fine albeit there was a few thousands of radial play in the bearing.
Showing the NA some love, been dragged out due to hectic work schedule.
New coolant expansion tank
A few new coolant hoses
FMS, oil pump drive gear, green O ring
New rollers, timing belt, water pump, new hardware for everything including crank bolt
New steel control arms with poly bushings, new ball joints, and new hardware all around
New sway bar center bushings, all new hardware all around for sway bar connections
Misc. new hardware for stuff around the front of the engine that I thought looked ugly. It's cheap and OEM-ish from Belmetric.
The 951 recently got some goodies too. A stainless steel shifter insert, stainless steel sun visor clips, and some 14point7 "solid series" gauges in a LR 3-pod surround. Pics soon.
I put the s2 on stands so i can drain the coolant, i've got a leak in the heater core or failed o-rings at the heater core inlet. I really want it to be o-rings, i don't want to pull the dash again.
Got a new windshield installed. Mine got cracked from something on the road. I can see so much better. Original was pitted and and had a bad tint job across the top from a previous owner.
Swore repeatedly at the stupid retaining clip for the heater control valve's bowden cable. Lost both the original one that used to be on the car AND the replacement one. Starting to think I should just disconnect the thing and change the heat setting with a $*#$ing screwdriver, because that's probably easier than getting the stupid cable reattached properly.
