I think the loctite is for the 4 studs when installing. I will double check my manual when I get home

Thanks so much I’d appreciate if yo can confirm that, maybe the torque spec page is unclear. Makes no sense to me to use 270 there. Surely red Loctite if you used anything at all. I’m about to finish the pump installation as it needs to be done before I can start building up the belt components, I’ll wait a bit I think. I left the studs in place as original as they didn’t look corroded and I figured getting them out would be potentially damaging, lesser of the evils and all that. Thanks for the input so far

I have the same "instructions" in the beginning of my manual (but with 8(6) torque specs). However if you go the the installation page-

This is from 19-4 and 19-6, note no special instructions to use loctite on part #17 and #15
I removed my studs and I can confirm the studs have a LOT of red loctite on them. The amount of heat needed to remove bolts or studs, with red loctite, in a giant aluminum heat sink is incredible. Do not use it on the bolts!

Thanks it does look as if the torque spec page is badly written! (studs only) or two separate lines for bolts and studs would have clarified better...

Replaced my steering shaft with a Rennbay unit. Now the car tracks completely straight and the wobble at 80 MPH is gone!

Cleaned the sunroof drains.
Began sanding down the roof to remove the dead clearcoat
Ordered timing belt kit and new waterpump

Sat in it and imagined what it drives like. (new project)

Ive had a few over the years, GT-Racing, Custom made ( a member here ) and these GTP. By far the best fit, finish and quality. Theyre vented also.

I am doing the K & N air filter in my 87 944 N/A this afternoon.
Just picked it up after special order at Autozone.
I am very happy that it is washable and reusable at $70

Installed custom designed stone guards I had Van make for me. I tried to go with a 911 flavor, rather that the squared off 924 Carrera GTS style.
