Built a protoype of a center console drink holder that has been banging around in my head for awhile. Aside from the obviously poor upholstery job, it seems like it will work well. I can still use the armrest and shift fine, even with a drink in there.

I'm going to live with it for a week or two and if I still like it, drop it off at a trim shop to have it done with denser foam and leather. The final one can be about 3/4" shorter with that cup holder and the denser foam, so when I have them do it right it will be a little shorter too, which I think will look better.

Any thoughts?

Had a few U-J bends leftover from other builds I wanted to use. Decided that I wanted to relocate this swapped S motor's intake to the header panel area. Powdercoated 1 bend to match intake and cam cover. Made this:

Great idea!

If the cost of getting it covered is more than $75 you might consider getting one of these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Geniune-Leat...4900d4&vxp=mtr

I found a little packet of special grease that's included with Prothane bushings, so I used the grease to lube my swaybar bushings. The bushings were very hard to slide off the swaybar from being completely dry. they went back on very easily with the fresh lube. I'm about to go on a test drive, I hope it makes a difference.

I started my 944spec car... listen to the lifters clatter for 25min. Shut it off. Put the cover back on.

I pulled the seats out of my 951 and stripped it down to metal inside, tomorrow I'm going to clean up the areas that have surface corrosion, do some welding on the floor pan for sub belt installation, primer the inside of the car, and fab a harness bar. Next up is getting it caged! Trying to get to under 2750 lbs with no fiberglass and all factory glass, before the cage of course.

i really have to wonder, where is all the fat in the late cars hidden?
aside from the turbo stuff, the car is mostly identical. you have 4 more gallons of gas and a slightly heavier interior etc but still..

my car with all steel/all glass/all interior/working ac/full tank/spare+tools/etc is just under 2750lbs.

I cant figure it out either but my gutted 951 with literally nothing in it and bare bones under the hood is still heavier than a stock early car. The only thing that makes sense to me is heavier gauge steel in the body. Besides what you mentioned I also have bigger brakes and wheels but thats an extra 75 lbs im guessing.

Today I installed my new tie rod ends

I also rebuilt my slave cylinder

I found this on a box of axle bolts I bought from Pelican Parts

My Elephant Racing suspension bushings should be here pretty soon. Once those are installed my suspension project will be pretty close to done!

I replaced the ref and speed sensor harness with the LR replacement harness. Wasn't too bad but routing harness was a pain on a 952(RHD).After I got it fitted car wouldn't start. After a few(like 20) attempts I decided to swap the plugs around, as I had only fitted them the way I did, because of a pic I had seen online, and figured car wasn't starting anyway, so it was worth a try. Sadly LR dont bother to explain which connector goes to what plug in there instructions.

Thankfully she fired up first time, once I had swapped plugs. I hope this is the solution to the problems I have been having lately (fingers crossed).
