I put on the phonedials with snow tires, topped up the fluids, took out the summer mats and put in the heavy duty winter floor mats and put an ice scraper in the car. Just in time too. The temps dropped to -19 with wind on the weekend. brrrrr.

Drove my car about 50 miles on Saturday on a cool, clear day, just recently changed the oil with fresh 20 W 50, and the temps were high 20's.....so put it back in the garage and will wait until it heats up so I can do a final wash and put the battery tender on it and car cover....away for the winter.

Did a final check/warm-up before the winter long sleep.

Took a picture of its blue sister that unfortunately has to be outside(under the house but outside):

plastic-welded two cracked windshield washer fluid reservoirs - I think I've got the technique down now, one more to go. If anyone needs this "service", PM me.

Bought a Blaupunkt Honolulu stereo. I've got a lot of work to do for the installation.

Ordered some engine Bling(polished cam tower and inlet manifold) from our good friend Luis(Larts parts) and also bought a turbosmart eboost electronic boost controller. Just waiting for Josh to do me a deal on DME/M tune combo when it's released and I'll start fitting all the bits I have put together which include CEP Fuel rail, lightened pulley set, and Tial waste gate.

I heard that the only thing that'll come outta Blaupunkt Honolulu is Don Ho singing 'Auf Wiedersehen'.

I replaced the ignition control module on my lt1 and it cranked right up...thankfully it wasn't the optispark! Then I took a co worker for a spin...scared him some but he knew what he was getting into. I love it, just need to get all the little kinks out and button everything up.

Replaced the DME relay after the original one decided to go out just as I was trying to show the car off to a friend At least in happened in my driveway...

All the parts finally in for the major service ahead.
  • timing belt, balance belt, rollers and seals
  • water pump and all hoses
  • rear cam box seal
  • plugs, wires, cap and rotor
  • oil cooler seal kit (discovered oil residue in the expansion tank)
  • fuel filter
  • emergency brake handle

Wife says once the Xmas lights are up, the weekends all mine!

Well I haven't done anything to my car today but I have done something for it. My buddy met a guy who had stripped out an inherited 944 to be turned into a drag car. After a day of haggling I managed to pretty much get an entire car with 40k miles on it (minus interior and body shell) for 500 bucks.
