What did you do to your 924/944 today
#3933
Changed my air filter, it was full of tire and other assorted track debris. Unpacked my new Zimmerman front roters, but will wait until after our first event next week to change them.

I cont to change out the leaking lower front Balance shaft seal today on the 944 n/a.. Took an hour to get the pesky damm key out of the shaft. ARGHHH!!! New seal has been installed and the plan is to reassemble the front of the engine tomorrow.

A friend owed me some money so he gave me a set of c4s twists with tires, 3 cup wheels with tires and a turbo twist wheel with a tire. now just need to sell them locally.

Did front wheel bearings (bearing still good, grease was going bad but since I was in there anyway) and gave her a bath, needs a repaint but still shiny enough... Virginia Beach pollen is the devil!

Three Wheelin'
had a nice day at the garage today...aldough the weather was utter ****..i managed to install the new front suspension and brakes...but no pics as it was raining cats and dogs.
i'm running the following gear:
rears: S2 late offset trailing arms with M030 brakes (soon to come: coilovers)
fronts: early offset steel trailing arms with late spindles and hubs, M030 brakes and coilovers
i dropped the fronts quite a bit...and the M030 calipers really put on a show...it looks mad cant wait for the good weather to come so i can take it out and get some hi-rez pics done.
Until then...please notice the PHAT CGT behind and now..due to the removal of the rieger side skirts and the addition of the FG copy of the original CGT skirts, the PHAT front end too. Man these cars are sexy !
The car is an 83 intercooled 924 turbo, running 1bar, 924 Carrera GT OEM ECU(DITC), S2 drive train.

Fitted a full new carpet set and re-located the immobilizer box
Gave the whole interior a good leather cleanR
an all the wires for the sound system and installed 4 new speakers (had to make brackets for rear 1/4), Removed and replaced the washer bottle
Changed the broken centre console hindge
Fixed boot lock micro switch (for now)
Swapped in front and side smoked lenses.
Ive been at it for a good 18 hours now but the interior looks brand new time for a good 5+ hours sleep and right back at it! Just remembered the washer nozzles are pointing wrong, ill fix that now and then rest, bloody addictive!

Holy hell its 3am...
Completely stripped the interior, and wiring harness. So since it has no motor, no wiring, no interior, no hvac, no dash, etc... The car is almost a rolling chassis.

They're free! I managed to get the ride height adjusters undone, and shifted the ride height to as close to the lowest point as possible.
It was a hell of a fight - I used a heat gun on them, then hit them with WD40, then heat again etc. Left side I use a bottle jack to break them free, the right side I pushed on a pipe extension with my foot while pulling back on the wheel arch to avoid pushing the car off the stands. Being able to leg press around 300kg is actually worthwhile now and then.
Took the car for a rip around some backroads, and it corners a lot better - especially powering out of a tight corner where the car has been feeling a bit on tip-toes on the back. Makes me wonder what adding camber/lowering via torsion bars would do.
