I've put this top on and off about 8 times now trying to get that warning to go away. Half the time with someone on the other side helping center it.

Wasn't your SRS' top severely abused by a salesman captured in his own video?

Tips:
1) Place towels down on either fender when removing the Soft-Top. No matter how careful and good you are, it’s a useful safety measure. Sometimes those rigid bars want to kiss the paint because they haven’t folded down enough. Be real careful and watchful of their position when placing the top into its cavity. Before removing from windshield, angle each of them back and bend them on their joints.

2) Another thing to watch out for are the plastic caps on the ends of the bars (which are hollow). Those caps pop out inadvertently and can literally disappear. They aren’t obtainable individually either (I checked with the parts department). I bought some plastic-metal epoxy at Home Depot which is good up to 250 deg F, and I glued those babies in place after some arduous effort was spent retrieving on which fell into one of the vehicle’s black holes. Glue those caps! And be careful to not get any of that glue onto the fabric — take the necessary precautions during the job.
Can you show a picture of what you glued ?

I won’t be in the same State as the car for a few days, but it’s the end-cap piece on either side of the metal convertible top rod (at rear of top that spans left to right). It’s basically a hollow metal tube that serves as a structural element. The end caps are in clear view when the Bimini portion of the top is recently installed in place but before the fins are secured onto the fin clampers. Or if already installed, you can release the fin clampers, pull the fins off the fin clampers and rest them on top of the Bimini top, and you’ll see the end-cap on either side of the car.

Do you see them?

So I just snapped it into place and the warning light went away. I would say check this piece on both sides if you encounter this light.

My window also hits whan closing, but not sure there is much to do but pull up on the top as you are closing the door.

350 miles on the odometer. Pretty sure I'll hit run in time this weekend, and so I will be able to hear what 9K sounds like. Cant wait !
This can't be the way they intended it, doesn’t the window drop when opening the door?

From my tinkering the problem seems to stem from the tensioner pulling the rear of the top towards itself when latching down. I found when having an issue just loosen the fin climpers and tug the top back to the driver side/left/port. Then snap shut the fin climpers.
I take it off and put it on by myself. Not hard.

Saw an SRS on the road yesterday. Sort of a cream color with the U-shaped pattern on the hood. Top was on the car, despite the weather being nice. Eye-catching car!

Creme White, Ivory, or Stone Grey, most likely. Where do you live?

Yes, this is the same as the 987. Same design functionality.

I'm in Maryland. I'm guessing that it's a VIP car.

Is there any chance you are doing this procedure with the key in the on position? If yes, try doing the top without the key inserted at all.

No simultaneous anything is needed.

I will say I did see the warning message one singular time out of many dozens of top operations. The latch and rear fin clampers were secure, so I was surprised. What I did was release the two rear fin clampers, release the top latch (in that order), and then re-secure those, in that order, and the error message went away.
I tried everything.
I did NOT have the key in. Unclamped the 2 rear and center over and over. Wiggled the top before clamping the center
Just dropped it off at the dealership and will see what they say.

I'm hoping that was the only time he did that. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance the save that video before it was taken down.

1. Very loud, even with the mufflers turned off
2. Slow, low in the rev range, crazy fast up top. Seems way faster than 3RS.
3. Very easy to break the rear loose, even with all the nannies on.
4. Shockingly easy to put the top up. Like a 30 second job after watching one video the first time!
5. Try to get the stitching on the top. Huge miss on my part.

I had kind of assumed the sport exhaust button was pointless on this car.
