A manual would be epic in the Spyder RS!
This is SO TRUE. If they only made this car a manual!!
Porsche already softened the suspension for road work, so why not include a GT3 manual for more engagement on the street?
I was missing the manual on my drive home when I got my SRS!!

That's the best video yet! I was really struggling with stowing the top. The trunk cover would NOT fit flush.
Even with this video, you need to make sure the knuckles on the rear bar are laying flat or the trunk will still will not sit flush.

I suspect that stupid back thing will be removed and stored in the cellar forever.

[QUOTE=jlee504;19446235]Best video I've seen so far of the top operation /QUOTE]

Agree good detailed video.
However the time can improve working one side to the other without going back and forth so often.
As a former 987 Spyder owner I was able to work from passenger side to drivers side to take down both Bimini and back piece and driver to passenger to put both up without having to go back to the other side.
Spyder RS will involve an additional step having to release the fins before being able to raise the decklid to start process.

You really can't put the GT3 manual in 982...
1. You will get 6 reverse gear and 1 forward gear.
2. People say it is too long to fit.

Also can't put GT4/Spyder manual in because it doesn't satisfy the torque requirement of the cup engine.
Porsche would have to take the GT3 manual and do a bunch of R&D on it for modificationa and fitment... Really don't think they would do that and sell like 1 year worth of Spyder R, not impossible but very unlikely. Spyder/GT4 RS are parts bin special already.

According to this article https://www.whichcar.com.au/news/the...owered-monster, the original GT4RS test mule had the GT4 6MT. Even though us GT4 owners complain about the long gears, the extra 1k RPM would have made it even worse. So the torque doesn't seem to be the issue. Certainly, Porsche could have given the 6MT shorter gears, but perhaps would have a harder problem meeting some regulations. I think Porsche wanted the RS to only have PDK and if you want a 6MT, they'd rather sell a GT3 to you than a GT4RS. Since they didn't develop it for the GT4RS, no hope of seeing it for the SRS.

Acutally you are probably right.. the cup motor is only like 10% higher torque than GT4. People with tune and stuff might even produce more torque than stock cup motor.
