I’ll need to do a back to back comparison to confirm, but I think it is a softer and more compliant ride on public roads with broken pavement than the gt3. I sense much less harshness on the initial crash/compression on hitting imperfections and it does not porpoise like the gt3 can at speeds under 25 mph.
It is a very similar sensation comparing the Spyder rs to Gt4rs as speedster to gt3, except in this case the spyder is the lighter of the 2 cars.

thanks the porpoising is what I was wondering about.
I am in love with this little thing. I live in New England with absolutely horrific roads and the spyder manages to handle them quite well - much better than a 4RS or GT3. Very impressed with that.
At first I thought the top was awful but it was worth putting up with, after taking delivery and operating it a few times - I don’t mind it! On a colder day it is especially cool to drive with the rear smaller piece removed but main cover on. Get lots of good induction sound like that too.
I can’t say much on handling anywhere close to performance driving as I’m taking to easy and it’s been a bit chilly up here. I can say that around town and more normal driving it is more exciting than a 992 GT3 for me. Being a smaller cabin, top down, more compliant ride, etc - is great. I love it!
For my usage of being a car to enjoy on nice summer weekends cruising around / backroad driving, it is perfect for me.
My complaints are minimal, wireless CarPlay would’ve been cool. The Bose audio sucks. And the valve/exhaust button is a tad annoying. I don’t quite understand the point of pressing the loud button then the car deciding for me when I’m allowed to hear it. An exhaust will remedy that. Small complaints for an overall great car. 10/10 would buy again.
I’ll reply again with a better overview once it gets warmer and she’s broken in, but so far so good!

The RS my friends is a different beast. Just got mine on Saturday, and within 5 minutes I was giggling by the sounds, the handling, the looks... I had a 22 Spyder, and I thought that was the beast car ever. I was nervous about the added $$$ for the RS and was wondering if it would be worth it, It is !! Just breaking in, so 85 miles, and the sound just to 4000 is mesmerizing. I cannot fathom what his thing will be like at 9000. Will give updates when I can.
Us sacrificed-our-very-much-beloved-spyder-to-get-the-srs people are VERY glad to hear this. Please keep the impressions and comparisons coming.
I just don't understand people that want more exhaust noise on this car. (I mean this very much in a conversational tone, not critical) Why would you want anything that competes with that intake music? Does not compute. I am thinking if I never hear the exhaust at all, I won't miss it for a single instant. Admittedly, this is from someone who doesn't yet have a car.

I agree with you. Riding in the GT4RS I didn't even know if there was exhaust noise, it was all about the intake/engine noise. I did not miss hearing the exhaust.
My opinion is exhaust sound is a poor substitute to make up for lack of or poor engine and intake sounds. Think Subie, later BMW and Honda FI models, etc. When cars such as the SRS already have great engine and intake sounds, I don't want exhaust sound to muddy them.
That said, what sounds good to one's ears is subjective. I can certainly understand if someone wants a warmer exhaust tone and not necessarily a louder one.
I would like to know how much of the exhaust sound you can hear when driving the SRS. In the GT, you can definitely hear it mixed with the intake sounds.
I never changed the exhaust on my Spyder to make up for lack of or poor engine performance, I changed because I felt the sound was weak and underwhelming.
After hearing a few examples of aftermarket exhausts on the 4RS I am confident exhaust and intake sounds can co-exist, and if done correctly will complement the entire package.
Wait until breakin is complete. It's glorious, your cheeks will hurt from the constant smiling. 😁
What colour is that? Looks good.👍

Based on your comment above, I'm just wondering if you are limiting the revs to 4000 RPM for the break in, if so I wanted to give you a small gift. Based on a PDF copy I downloaded, of the GT4/SRS owner's manual (page16) the rev maximum during break in is 7,000 RPM, 4,000 is for the Spyder, GT4 and GTS 4.0 engines. Double check your manual, and if I'm right, you get a free extra 3000 RPM

Are you in the South Bay? Let’s get our cars together once mine arrives later this summer.
