Who cares what Porsche call their cars really ?
some might say why did they call the Cayman R the R after the crazy R 911.
i loved the two cayman R's I had but “R” was daft.
SRS is the 4RS sans roof, it lets people know it's ni on the same car set up.
non Porsche people have no clue about the amount of models they make. People round me have no idea what my cars are.
most think the 4RS is a 911 and some asked if my 4.0gts was a diesel. So the gen public have no clue what we drive.
some even say, so why did you buy this “4RS” when it's not a 911 !
dare say the word cayman, and you still get poors man Porsche or they think you own a cayenne.
80% are badge buyers they just was a 4wD 911 in any model.
I would even say any one who owns a GT car and has never done a track day is far worse than Porsche naming a car an “RS”
people just want the RS badge and will over hype the car on every forum to death, when deep down we all know how **** these cars are for road use. These are the people I laugh at not Porsche.

So perhaps NOT having much track experience can increase enjoyment of the 4RS on the road? Such a person can just enjoy the sound of the car, the shifting, the handling, etc., without knowing what they're missing in terms of what the car is like near the limit on the track. And over the years, I've gradually moved towards the view that perhaps it's not a grave sin to own the car in order to derive some satisfaction from possessing it, take it to cars & coffee, or show it off driving around town.

Everyone derives satisfaction from different aspects of luxury items. Sure, GT cars are best enjoyed at the track, but scoffing at people who purchase luxury items and not using for its intended purpose would negate many or most of the buyers of such luxury items, which would in turn make it more difficult for manufacturers to produce them. How many omega speedmasters go to the moon? What percent of rolex submariners or deepseas go into the ocean? What percent of hypercars are driven more than 30k miles and/or at their full capabilities? Some just enjoy the potential of their purchases, and appreciate the engineering and human capital that went into the creation of the products.

Well, thank you to all of you that buy these GT cars for those reasons. That way it becomes economically feasible for Porsche to design and manufacture them so we enthusiasts can drive them to their full limits.

My 2 cents. I was given a 5 lap ride by an ex IMSA driver in a different 4RS when I picked up my 4RS at the Experience Center in Atlanta on their new track. I find any complaints about the track capability or even ANY criticism about what Porsche did with this car borderline hilarious. We should all be grateful they made this car.

On the flip side, its a great experience to try an hpde event with a local PCA at least once. I was recommended I try 5 years ago, and it's an experience you can't get anywhere else, been hooked ever since. I try to recommend to every car enthusiast to give it a go (and come burn money with me haha).

THIS!! 4RS and standard GT4 are great when you have them on a smoother surface. When you start throwing in dips, bumps, undulations, and imperfections is when the crudeness and basic design of it starts to show.
Also a pro driver is good at driving around deficiencies, as that is usually their job and why they are called a pro.

That is a cope out and just an excuse. The suspension tech is out there for that not to be so, but Porsche refuses to adapt.
There might be hope though with their new adaptive air suspension that they are introducing on their sports sedan ( I forgot what it is called), regardless though, they are slow to adapt and those that expect less make it easier for them to not innovate more quickly.
