I try to shift mine at 5K and up, even for daily driving, as the PDK seems to like it better when you are in manual mode. It is more crisp and just more happy shifting at 5K and up. Having the Kline Inconel helps with achieving this of course 5K to 6K is my non max performance shifting points.
If I want it totally relaxed, I will leave it in auto with the PDK button off
I can only imagine how much better the 9K red line must be. I want that motor!!!

Before I picked up my 4RS in March 23 I was warned to expect an overly harsh ride. So when I first drove it I was very pleasantly surprised at how supple and well controlled the ride was !. A lot of the early 4RS buyers made up all kinds of weak and totally unfounded excuses why they 'flipped' their 4RS'.
I agree with Manifold about the cabin in that it feels so much more cozy compared to the 992s. You also seem to sit lower down. The PDK does seem to shift faster than the already quick one in the 991.2RS.
On another note I've received a recall on mine to replace the engine oil sticker to now recommend the new Mobil 1 C40 GT oil. I've also got a recall to check how secure the lightweight glass windows are which will be replaced if they fail the test.
The front tyres will wear prematurely on the outside edges if driven hard on track unless a lot of negative camber is dialled in. I'm now on -3.25 which seems to work well.

100% agree with this, although in my case just the GT4.
Second place for me goes to my previous 2013 Audi TTRS, followed by my C5 Z06 (just the instrument panel, not the whole interior). The checked gauges that are 3-D layered and back lit with a purple black light is very striking at night.

My first drive in the gt4rs coming home from the ppf shop in a mix of highway and local roads. 1st ICE porsche, first mid engine car. Coming from a 2023 brz with suspension modifications. I anticipated the car to be rough and harsh, but as others have stated, it's bouncy, not jarring, and I was pleasantly surprised by this. My brz feels almost the same with soft settings on its KW derived suspension.
Noise is not bothersome at all at up to half throttle to 4k rpm, makes all sorts of lovely intake and engine noises, love it. Didnt notice significant drone at highway speeds, just... engine noise behind my ear. Drone to me is a cheap knockoff aftermarket exhaust on a jdm 4 banger. If this is drone in the porsche world, sign me up I'm all for it.
Dare I say, it felt like a brz from an alternate universe where the brz was built and engineered to be a 150k car. I'm glad I kept the brz just for the manual experience and track use when weather conditions aren't the greatest.

Living here in Dallas we have a lot of concrete roads. Driving the 4 RS over all of those uneven expansion joints can be a little bumpy so I can see where some think the ride is too rough. Once on some asphalt or a smoother road the ride is fine like we are all saying.
I just got my oil changed at 2900 after following my outline from above (APs recommendation) and not a drop of oil burned to date. Not even one bar burned after 14 track days. I did break my car in at the track while following those rpm guidelines and being smooth and easy on throttle until about the 8,000 rpm mark. I remember being at that mark and then finally adding the metallic sound of the last 1,000 rpms in one day. What an aural symphony.
As far as engine break-in goes, just like anything in life, there is good, better, and best. You can either hold out and be patient for the best or make excuses all day long about why just good is ok for you. To each his own.

Kind of nice having the engine right behind you, there in the cabin with you, instead of somewhere way far back.

Driving the 4RS and 992 TTS the same day yesterday, the TTS was not rendered boring by the 4RS. When driven with vigor, the TTS is very engaging and exhilarating. They are very different cars, but the Porsche family resemblance is still there.

That's awesome, I wish I could have both. Never drove a tts. Sounds like its a riot in its own right.
