Simply not true in real life.

Maybe on the Internet, but not in real life.

Our local PCA DE events draw a wide variety of cars (not limited). A Ferrari is a very rare sight, in my experience. Maybe they are off doing private track days. I would think only the deeper pockets folks could afford to track their f-cars with any regularity, especially as the resale meter would be dropping quickly.

On the east coast, from VIR to Mid Ohio to Palmer and in between, I've rarely seen Ferraris at track events of Chin, PCA, BMW, SCCA, TrackDaze, and others. Porsches, BMWs, Chevys, Fords, and Miatas are the most common cars.

I have a 458 and 4RS, interesting enough the Ferrari's I've seen track are done at more private type days either by the local Ferrari club or friends who rent out a track during the week to keep it small here in SoCal. None of the owners seem to be interested in going to "public" track days. A friend with a 4RS did see a 458 tracking Chuckwalla during his normal track day which was amazing to see and even better it was laying down similar times to the 4RS.

If you track at a private club, you just can't go back to public tracks.

Has anyone gotten bored of their GT4RS? I have a 992 GTS that I’m getting bored with because it is too competent—no drama. Hoping the 4RS is much more of a hooligan otherwise I may need to look to a different and more playful brand.

I don't want to sound hackneyed, but a car is not boring. It's how you drive the car that makes it boring (or not boring).

As much as I might try to argue against this, I think it's true. And beyond that, the subjectivity of driving is such that, if two people drive the same car the same way, one may be bored and the other not. It's too easy to make the mistake of thinking that our subjective perceptions mirror objective reality.

I didn’t mean to imply it’s boring to everyone, only that its driving characteristics are boring to me. It is a 7 speed manual too. Turbo lag, rev hang, no playful rotation, too competent for backroad driving engagement. Just point and shoot

I wasn't suggesting that. If you've given a car a good try and find it boring, and don't see that changing in the future, probably time to sell the car (unless the car was bought for utility rather than enjoyment).

For every one of these cars, there are some 'enthusiasts' who find them to be boring. My friend who has a 4RS finds my 992 TTS to be boring, whereas I enjoy it, and that's ok; different people like different things.

Maybe you need a BAC Mono

If you want excitement and can handle exotic repair bills/maintenance then the 458 is definitely more exciting than my 4RS when it comes to street driving. 4RS is the better canyon/track car though. All about what you want.

I know a lot of guys who track their exotics, Ferraris, McLarens, Lambos, even some hypercars. Of the dozens or so I know, almost none would do a DE event. They are doing closed events, private rent outs, and the dealer/brands will run their own invite-only events. Not seeing any exotics owners at a PCA DE event is not surprising in the least.

Can you say more about what makes it more exciting?

I find the 4RS lights up the rears effortlessly during 1st and sometimes 2nd gear during hard acceleration. The TC light flashes away while it sorts itself out. I am on cup2 tyres with only 3000km which included 1 track day. Perhaps the tyres need more heat in to them. It can be quite a playful car when required.
My daily is a 500hp SUV with a bucket load of torque. I find that the 4RS has plenty of punch for an NA even at the low end of the rev range (in its sweet spot of gearing of course).
