So I've been offered a couple of GT4RSs at MSRP + ADM but, as a person who doesn't need to have the shiny new object and is fundamentally opposed to ADMs, I have passed. Now that prices are starting to settle down, I'm beginning to consider whether or not to get one. Not to poke the bear, but I currently have perfectly spec'd 981 GT4 that I have set up the way I like. Taking collectability out of the equation, would folks rather buy a GT4RS or have a DeMan 4.5L 981 GT4 and an extra $50K - $100K in their pocket. In other words, sell my GT4 for an RS or send my car to DeMan. My racing days are behind me so the car would be 75% / 25% street / track.

but those are the times, the 4rS is faster EVERY where , it what it is. I have had GT3 before and GT4's . i drive a GTS PDK it's a mega daily no need for turbo's imo 8.6 seconds to a ton is fast enough on the road., I don't care what people say , but I don;t like desinfomation if its wrong !
I have a vbox so now VERY interested if my GTS is faster at 4k over over my 4RS, I'll try and do it this weekend. I have not noticed the torque dip myself but I know how to change gear :-) but I 'll do 2 4k pulls in each car see what the times are. I have a 718 GT car also so have all 3 versions on the higher end 718's lets just say I like the platform. GTS PDK, GT manual and RS PDK.
I could buy an F8 or a 992 turbo S and have change from those 3, but I just like small light NA cars and the 4.0 in the GTS or the GT4RS 4.0 engines are both very sweet units. the 981 was crap imo (yes I had one of the 1st GT4 in the UK in 2015 thought it was a dull car)

But does it even matter? The car is objectively what it is, and people subjectively like it or don't like it, buy it or don't buy it. There's no need to reach consensus.

I don't have a dog in this fight, but 7184RS is correct. On paper and in real world, proven by videos provided, the 4RS in faster. I don't know why it's so hard for those to concede that their butt dynos are obviously wrong. The only reason I can think of to support their "feeling" is the 4RS has so much more in cabin noise/drama that they expect the car should feel quicker. With the GT3 being quieter, it probably gives the perception that it's doing it more effortlessly, thus giving off the false sense it feels quicker. At MSRP, the GT4RS is considerably cheaper (by $100k) in my country, yet offers very comparable performance, in a smaller mid-engined platform. Comparing apples to apples, I can't think of another brand new car that can be ordered today that touches the 4RS. Enjoy the car for what it is, rather than arguing over subjective feelings.

"We" don't, because the data is there to back it up, it's faster... but you can keep flogging your point until the cows come home for all I care. Enjoy your weekend

You’ll spend the money on the conversion and still be wondering what-if on the 4RS. If you go 4RS you won’t ever be thinking about a conversion car.
Not to mention warranty, reliability, value.

Thinking about BGB conversion on the GTS and letting the 4RS go in a year or so.
So on my thoughts -I like the 981, the 4RS is FUN!!! But I can drive the 981 a lot more often than the 4RS

I wanted the 4RS because it's the best Cayman that will ever be made, and delivers the goods on track. Not sure I'd buy one as a road-only car - but I might! If you get one at little or no ADM, my guess is that the car will hold value in the long term.
