There isn't, actually. Only about 40% of GT4 opted for the buckets, and about 25% of all Spyders.
My wife and I have been track sharing a CGTS, we bought last year, that has the LWBS. She decided she loved driving on the track and wanted her own car and she wanted a Spyder. After having the LWBS, for track use, we decided that was one of the preferred features, while maybe not quite being make/break for us. It was really surprising how few Spyders had the buckets and when you throw in a few more desired options including not wanting a monochrome car, the list of available cars became very short.
I honestly don't think cost factors into it much at all. The 18 way seats are roughly 2500 bucks and the buckets add what, another 5800 or something? That's chump change when we are talking about a 125 or $130,000 car. I think most people who choose the buckets do so because of how they look and not how they perform. For me personally, I chose the 18 way for one simple reason. I need heated seats. They are good for my back and they make driving in cooler weather much more comfortable. If the buckets offered more adjustability and heat I would undoubtedly have chosen them because they look so damn cool.
Haha maybe I'm just the poor one. The buckets were a make or break for me but I sacrificed a lot of other options to be able to afford them.
But I did actually forget about the heated seats thing. I forget a lot of people like that option. Me personally ive never used heated seats even when I had the option.
Personally I chose them due to how they will perform. This car for me will be seeing the track as much as I can and I really wanted the OEM bucket seats as I find them to be significantly nicer than anything I'd go buy aftermarket.
Took delivery of my Cayman earlier this morning. I think the gray skies were actually a blessing in disguise since the Shark Blue seems to pop even more than in the sun!

OMG... thought this was the waiting room thread... So sorry folks!
NO WORRIES NICK !
Beautiful car, I saw it when they were detailing it at the dealership.
Did you check out the GT4 RS in the showroom ?
Of course you did, how could you miss it.
Enjoy !
Assuming this is still the thread to talk about new inventory GT4/Spyders...anyone know what Porsche Rocklin or Livermore are asking for the Spyders they seem to have on their lots right now?
I havent asked about the Spyder linked above.... but I have spoken with one of the SAs at Rocklin about once a month for the past year. All their new cars have pretty steep ADM. They have quoted me 15k+ minimum on a variety of allocations. One Carrera S they had was 15% above MSRP. That is for an out of state buyer.... They will sell out of state, however. Just an FYI.
If you are local, I suspect you might get a better price.

Of course I checked it out! Quite the machine. Except I would have spec'd the color differently... I guess choosing an off-grey as a "dealership spec" means it should be easier for them to sell!
But at $100k ADM, I think it'll be there a while... people not even paying that for factory orders!
I checked their website and it's not listed, not sure why...
