PIWIS 3 Coding Retrofit and Feature Request
#197
I could be wrong and/or confused. I'll search on PIWIS for it.
This what I was recalling. Open the door on cars equipped w/ PDK and the parking brake comes on if the engine is running. Makes sense not to let the car roll.
I'd like that on my MT car, coming on when I park the car. I don't like to park with the gear engaged (topic for a different heated discussion for sure) and I forget the parking brake sometimes, specially after years of PDK driving.

Ah - yes even my Cayenne (which is automatic, vs PDK) does that. Open the door with the car running and it not in PARK and the parking brake immediately engages. Can be annoying if I'm trying to position the car on my lift, so I need to creep the car forward with the door open.
But auto-setting the parking brake when I shut the car off (and preferably pull the key) might be a neat feature? I'd have to really think about it. Setting the parking brake is already a habit for me and there are times when I do deliberately want it in neutral (in between autocross runs... I don't want to the pads against the rotors right after a run..)
Still would be cool to uncover it for future reference and/or for other folks who would like it

I don't want the car rolling if I leave it in neutral. The parking brake position is really ackward considering it's electronic (a button anywhere would do - like in the rest of the lineup).

I found a new setting for TPMS. 20" Track Tire. You can customize the tire pressures.
Might be a better workaround than Circuit or Track mode.

^^^^ That might be really handy in the Spyder, we don't have "Track Mode" and it gets cranky as the tire pressure increases and I let more than 5 PSI out...
And then again on the way home as the tires cool and it is actually in range for a summer tire, but the system thinks I lost too much pressure and again throws up a warning!

@Z06jerry I ran the proximity sensor test on my car. I remember that I got some errors on yours.
@718socal Finally got around to removing my front bumper to see what's going on. Turns out my car does have the front kessy E&D antenna and the correct wiring harness but instead of having the gesture sensor under the bumper I have an empty sensor housing with its connector pins looped back on each other, I assume to prevent an error code due to missing sensors. Here's a picture of what it should look like and a picture of mine. Hoping I can find a used one to try out now that you coded them. BTW for those wondering, my car is a '22 GTS 4.0 that is missing the E&D gesture function due to the chip shortage.
correct sensor has 4 wires from the connector entering what looks like an epoxy potted housing (picture downloaded from internet)
my sensor connector has 2 wires looped back on themselves and the housing is empty
Kessy E&D Antenna

Good job!
It doesn't mean there will be a connector for the keyless start, given this could be just a workaround until they have the parts.
I don't know if promises were made to install that particular sensor. If not, Finding that from a part out should not be difficult. The panamera I got after my 992 died has wireless charger that was installed way later.
I my prior cars I could only get the hood it to work when I was washing it

"PIWIS needs to be in Engineering and not V diagnostic mode to code the cluster. By default the AC is always ON on my car. If you have the memory seats, I think it remembers the last setting with your memory button and key"
Thanks, 718socal ... appreciate your help. I'll pass this along. I think they were in the Engineering mode. Perhaps there is something they were missing. I'll see if they can try again.[
