I'm out! After the long, long wait, my delivery happened!
The car is STUNNING and exceeds my expectations in every way. The colour seems to shift, depending on the light. Next stop PPF and some vintage graphics of some sort...
Car got to Baltimore on the 1st, PDI'd on the 2nd, marked "cleared for transport" on the 3rd. Dealer GM told me, "When it actually gets loaded on a a truck, I get an email. From there it's usually 3-4 days. I'll email you the instant I know it's been put on a truck." So I expected a 3-4 day warning and was HOPING the car would arrive in time for NEXT weekend (Porsche timing sheet said "arrive at dealer" on 7/9).
Got a text at 2:00 in the afternoon on Monday, "YOUR CAR IS HERE!" I honestly thought he was messing with me. Seemed they did NOT email anyone when it got on the truck, and nobody expected the truckers to work over the holiday... but they did.
As is typical in a dealer environment, sales and service butt heads... so they couldn't guarantee me that my car would be PDI'd and delivered Monday. Manager took me to the back lot to see my car (still wrapped). I told him, "Ok I'll come back to look later - let's go bug the service team" and he said, "Well, you've got the key - just drive it into the service drive like a customer." So that's what I did.... grabbed my usual service advisor... "PDI this ASAP please!" She rolled her eyes a bit... but got me in that afternoon. Drove it home that night!
As of this morning I've got a little over 400 miles on it.... AP break-in procedure halfway done!
And I am more in love with this car than I expected to be!
So your SA was out of the loop and taken by surprise when you’re car arrived. Stunning. I can’t wait for the day we order a car online and don’t have to deal with dealers. They’re the worst part of the car buying experience.

Got a Boxster GTS 4.0 on order estimated delivery in November. Was hoping for a Spyder but no allocation in my neck of the woods and I figure I can always trade in if I’m still pining for a Spyder.
Going through the configurator has gotten me pretty excited. I’m definitely going with the MT but also considering the LWBS. Doesn’t seem to be a popular option on the GTS but what the heck?

LWBS makes a lot of sense if you plan to track your car. And if you’re planning on tracking, you’re probably going to choose the spyder/gt4. I’ve owned LWBS in my previous GT3 and while they look fantastic, I went 18-way seats with with easier ingress/egress for daily use in my BGTS 4.0. But LWBS in a GTS is fantastic and go for it if you like. They will only be a net positive for resale as well
