I just finalized my build today with one last tweak. It didn’t affect the dates, so happy for that. The build date had already slipped from July 27 to August 30. I am still hoping to pick up a week and have it built before the holiday. I am a bit worried that the builders will have forgotten what they should be doing and it will be delivered with a bag of bolts that were left over after they finished. I guess on the flip side they could be distracted by dreaming about their upcoming vacation and not be focused on what they are doing. I had mentioned before that my 992 was delivered with a bad install of the windshield (very visible - one look and it could be seen). A guy in the 992 forum just received a 992 with the wrong color sunroof. I really would like to have a car roll off that was built correctly.

Don't worry, I am sure they will figure out where the left over bolts came from and fix it.

It can always be worse, they can deliver a car with a defective internal engine part such as connecting rods.

Can you imagine the tear down that is required to replace that?

I have owned different fun vehicles that are 2-3 times different in price simultaneously.

It all depends on what you want. I can tell you 2-3X the price does not equate 2-3X ‘better’.

Drive wheels, weight, engine placement, manual vs auto, NA vs turbo….They are all different in their own special way.

Worse case scenario, you can always sell your GT4 and get a M2CS. But I am guessing you will not be disappointed. Lots of BMW guys move over to Porsche and stay here.

I just added LWBS to my build. I would appreciate any suggestions on the build before it locks.

Dropped by the dealership again and confirmed I've locked. Car should be built by July 23rd. Still on for delivery in September. Getting closer!

Default It's been great!

It is with joy that I report my departure from the waiting room. I took delivery of a GT Silver Spyder yesterday and spent the whole day driving while the sun burnt my skin. All I can say is that I already know it was worth the wait and the money, and I haven't crossed 4 krpm yet. That's exactly where you start to hear a resonance in the intake/exhaust, begging you to break the run-in rules specified in the manual. Getting to 3000 km without going over in revs is going to be tough. Wish me luck.

To all of you, I hope that Porsche gets all of their chips and con-rods sorted out, and that you are sitting where I am in no time!

There’s a whole thread on the break-in. I’m personally going to use Andreas Preuninger’s method as other wise it will take me forever to break it in with the mileage I do per year😂.
