There are some active members in our local PCA A. One as a Guards red car. The other, Carmine. I didn’t think those two colors were anywhere close to each other. But Side by side almost exact. We even ran the VIN on the alleged Carmine car and it was indeed Carmine. I guess my point is there are likely variances over different makes and models and years.
? I've seen them side by side and they didn't look close at all too me. Both great colors but Guards has tomato and Carmine has blood. They looked very different to me.
Interesting comments about Carmine Red, from those that I have seen not even close to Guards Red but maybe that is because some of us see colours differently... I almost ordered it on my previous Boxster GTS, probably the only red I would buy.
Carmine Red versus Guards Red
This is a far more accurate representation of the difference than that picture above in front of the church.

Trust me....I fully agree. But we had five people scratching their heads....to the point where we ran the VIN to make sure. The owner had just bought the car and was told was Carmine and took it at that. But we were not convinced until the VINalytics report came through. Really weird. Almost like it had been coded incorrectly. Guards does not do much for me(although it always looks good). Carmine does! Had Spyder been available in Carmine, I really would have struggled not to get it. In fact, I think I would have. And it would look fantastic on the Spyder.
I haven't gotten through every post in this thread, but has anyone done Satin Aurum w/ PCCB's? The colors seem like they work together.

If I went with Aurum I would do black calipers. The yellow just seems to "pastel" the color of everything....pastel being a verb if I may. I don't know how else to say it. Do black door handles as well and that would really tie it together. Black nipples if you get PDLS.
I had a set of 3 piece wheels with gold centers on my 981 GT4 which had PCCBs. I was not 100% happy with the look of the yellow calipers against the gold wheels. No issues with the look of the wheels.
The air cooled on right is Guards. The GT3 on left is Guards. The Boxster in the middle is Carmine.
What a great shot. Guards, carmine, python (am I right?).....
Of personal interest, I await my Lava CGTS arriving shortly and my anxiety over bypassing the shark blue is slowly increasing. I had seen all 3 of the other colors and love that shark. Made my choice based only on pictures and the lava ID badge ribbon that I got at the PEC/LA.
Is that a Lava example over to the far right? Because if it is I made the correct call --for ME-- with absolutely no shade being thrown at those that went blue. You guys also made an awesome call.
I was also originally going Lava (Boxster S), then migrated to CGTS40 in Aventurine Green, then yellow, then silver, then AvGreen. Final answ.... wait! SHARK BLUE! Final Answer! Locked! Done! (But every time I see a car in orange I drool just a little bit - not on the car.)

Hey Adam. Back when I first started my journey someone suggested the espresso/cognac interior with the shark blue. I would have never thought of that but liked it so much that it sat there as my submitted configuration for the better part of 2 months. Was that you? If it was we might have been separated at birth
