I'm busting we the seams! And if it jumps onto a ship this week, I could have it before New Year's Eve!

Now who can tell me the name of the next ship heading to Davisville?

MEH.....I think it was close enough. I do see the difference that you see. But I think it was dirt. It doesn't really matter. You know what your car looks like and how good it looks on your car. I love it. I gotta be honest....I have considered getting a cornflower GTI as a daily....hahaha!!!!

True enough. I just wondered if the paint was tweaked by Porsche.

Default Shark Blue G37??

I went to the local Jiffy Lube to get my 1985 Targa inspected. I see this G37 in something close to Shark Blue. It turns out it was one of the employee’s cars. I’ve never really looked twice at a G37 but damn it looked good. Anyway, I talked to the dude that owned it. Super cool young man and it was a custom paint job…not a wrap. Turns out it was painted to the Ford coded “Grabber Blue”. I have seen that color but didn’t think it was close to Shark. I just thought it was cool to see all of the young employees so stoked on cars in general.

They loved my Targa. The inspector guy was maybe 30yo and he assured me he could drive a standard. I told him it wasn’t the easiest car to drive. He stalled the car about five times just trying to check the brakes. His coworkers were howling with laughter and even questioning his manliness!!!…haha. Anyway, a good bunch of young men and women totally stoked on cars. When I saw his blue G37 I told him I’d bring my Shark Blue Spyder by. They were pretty damn close in color. Shark being only slightly darker than Grabber.

My friends and I have been debating these two colors. Thanks for posting.

They are definitely the same, so it could be natural variances in paint, or dirt on this particular car. Some chalk/crayon cars have looked slightly different from 991.2–992 generations as well, when parked side-by-side.

Porsche doesn’t even bother hiding the fact that the paint is in fact Cornflower Blue. Here is a delivery sticker off a 992 in Shark Blue affixed to the windshield.

In the end, it’s an awesome color. Really happy Porsche adopted it from VW.

That's too funny. Thanks for sharing. I guess Porsche charges a premium price for it because they can, and maybe also to soften the blow for others who ordered PTS colors that are very close to this color. Whatever it is, as you said, it looks great and I don't care a bit. I had mine out yesterday as it was mid sixties here. I love the color, but mostly, the car under the paint.

There are some active members in our local PCA A. One as a Guards red car. The other, Carmine. I didn’t think those two colors were anywhere close to each other. But Side by side almost exact. We even ran the VIN on the alleged Carmine car and it was indeed Carmine. I guess my point is there are likely variances over different makes and models and years.

Yea, I was wondering the same thing about Carmine vs Guards red. I wouldn't think Carmine was worth the extra money. Then again, I didn't want to pay $2,600 for Shark but when the misses reacted so favorably to it while online, well, that was all she wrote! (and she hated Aventurine Green)

Interesting comments about Carmine Red, from those that I have seen not even close to Guards Red but maybe that is because some of us see colours differently... I almost ordered it on my previous Boxster GTS, probably the only red I would buy.

I agree. I love Carmine Red. But I was shocked when I saw them side by side. It was an absolutely perfect cloudless sunny day. Maybe it was the direct sunlight??
