Engine Ticking Noise

Burning Brakes
It is very annoying but I have accepted the idea of living with it. I feel that I shouldn’t have to do that, but Porsche isn’t caring what customers think when it comes to this matter.
The car is an absolute animal and a great alternative to a GT3. Provides all the brutally savage and violent high RPM engine noise and sensation of speed thrills a person could want.

Here's a link to the ticking/tapping/apparent fuel injector sound from my car. 2021 Boxster GTS 4.0 "Tapping Sound"
What I'd like to know is if Porsche has any mitigation factors for carbon buildup on the intake valves. I know that in the case of my old N54 car, the build up is extremely non-trivial. Some cars have a second TPI which, as one effect, washes off the intake valves.

Saw this video on a similar thread in another 718 forum. If this is what it is, I think watching this video could help with understanding it and living with it. Pretty cool to watch actually.

I like every other aspect of this car so I am trying to accept it and like others have said knowing that it's normal helps. It is still an annoyance as once you hear it at idle then you sometimes hear it when driving. But the other sounds that the car makes are phenomonal. I bought my last Boxster (a 2008 S) new and had it until I got this car. I had planned to keep this car just as long but I doubt if that will happen now with this sound as it reminds me of a valve tapping sound from older cars. It has also made me less likely to buy any other Porsches so, while I'd like to be able to accept the sound, the jury is still out.

Bird Chirping Diesel GT4 Engine Sound
Original poster and commentators,
Is this the noise you are talking about?

This noise absolutely kills me- I despise the noise and I think it is extremely unbecoming of any expensive car let alone of a top German brand.
I hear it driving though the neighborhood, through parking lots, and at urban speed. It clunks faster and faster according to engine speed. This is NOT your usual Porsche valve tick or GT3 tin-can sound.
In my history, I have ordered 2 naturally aspirated 911s (2015 and 2016 GTS, one manual one PDK) and one naturally aspirated 2016 Spyder brand new prior to ordering this car in addition to having owned countless other cars including used Porsches (2018 GT3 Touring, etc). Never heard anything like this.
At a stoplight, this noise usually occurs but it does have a mind of its own- will go off an on- Morse code, as someone said 😂 To me it sounds like flywheel chatter (I don’t know). What do we think it is? Why is the noise a bit random?
The dealer said the Porsche engineer said the sound is normal, they couldn’t tell me what it was, and they wouldn’t help beyond that.

I recently took delivery of my 2021 GT4 and this intermittent bird chirping/diesel sound that kicks on at 1800 RPM is driving me absolutely insane. After owning 8 Porsches, I can't believe this would have passed Porsche's stringent development and qualification process. The sound is so annoying that I'm not sure I will be able to live with it. My Porsche dealer mechanic and service advisor also thought something was wrong but when they approached the regional folks with a video recording, they were told it's "normal". I'm wondering if this is on all GT4 and GTS 718 models or some smaller percentage because it's hard for me to believe that this group of owners would accept this as being normal.

its all of them AFIAK - injectors and/or H.P fuel pump...
its less noticeable if you install an aftermarket exhaust as the louder engine/exhaust noises drown it out...

But I honestly got used to it since my Spyder is just so wonderful in so many ways.
