Just came back from Dealer about a fairly loud ticking and was told it's injector noise. Its loud enough that I can hear it reflecting off building walls and inside tunnels. Doesn't sound like any Porsche I've ever owned and I've had a lot.

yup! - sounds a bit like a London Taxi! it is I believe the piezo injectors ...
The direct injectors are working against considerable pressure in the cylinders. Hence the noise. It does remind you of loud valve ticking of days gone by. Call it the song of an amazing flat 6.
indeed there is a clicking noise, not usual on a porsche engine. I can hear it clearly in slow motion. but since this is on all 4.0 718 engines I think this is normal.

I've got other P cars and nothing ticks like to 4.0 718. Nothing.
