Kline 718 GT4/Spyder exhaust

I was shocked as well when I heard the IG video of the Kline system on the RS. Any non-RS with header > back should sound identical to the RS w/Kline

Yes, maybe de Mic. I had the two engines living with me, and the feeling, sound, etc, are not comparable between them, but maybe this type of muffler in the 718 platform makes them sound similar. Other GT4RS exhausts sound different from regular GT4 exhausts of the same brand.

I can absolutely hear it. Even in lower RPM on throttle. The induction noise is significantly louder.
I thought that pressing the PSE button (ON) has different mapping for the valves? Apart from holding the valves open at idle, I thought they also open the valves at lower RPM's vs when the system is off.
And I thought that even with the system OFF the valves still open when you're at WOT at certain RPMs?
Question: Even with a valve controller, if you close the valves, do they not automatically open at WOT at certain RPMs? Or do they hold them closed regardless? Would that not reduce performance quite a bit if they were held closed at WOT at high RPMs?

No different mapping that I am aware of.
In regards to the valve controller. They make a 3-way, but mine is the 2-way which gives you always open or default Porsche functionality. There is no closed at all times mode.

I've seen posts like the one below where people have documented otherwise... and I think I've noticed similar. I guess it would not be hard to actually document it. Would be nice if these details were posted somewhere by Porsche and we didn't have to try and "figure it out" ourselves...

I’ll be on track next weekend with sounds clips of my setup taken outside of the car to follow. I had my TI this morning at Provost in NJ, this was the first time I got to hear my system from a non driving perspective while the car was being pulled into their bay area, and it was amazing - even the shop techs had to ask “what system is that, sounds great!?”

As a heads up to anyone considering this exhaust for their 718, I will be putting my Kline inconel exhaust (no headers) up for sale soon. Just took off the exhaust after about 4K smiles.

I made the video at the YouTube link below this weekend of the Kline Inconel system (OAP's & Backbox - No Headers) installed on my 718 Spyder. Nothing special...however for anybody that's trying to make a purchase decision you might find this helpful. Enjoy.

Great video Jim, good sound quality. Valves were locked open? She sure sounds guttural starting off from a stop 😁

Thank you. I've got the Cargraphic Exhaust Valve Controller installed and it's in the LOUD (open) mode for the duration of the video. Other than testing the Cargraphic Controller when first installed, I've always left it in the LOUD mode. It's a shame we have to pay to make the engine sound like it was designed to sound...however, welcome to the latest Euro noise regulations. The Cargraphic quickly solved that problem!

Excellent video! Thank you! I’ve got one on order and this made me very happy.
Would be great to do a comparison of stock v/s modified using the same microphone setup and driving route. I’ll see if I can do that over the next few weeks.
