Just my 2c on this as someone who decided on the SS system (yet to be installed) over the Inconel without hearing either in person. I believe what Eric is saying about the pitch difference, and I've also picked that up a bit comparing some vids although I know that isn't a perfect way to compare. My personal preference is actually to have the lower pitch on my manual Spyder, as for me that is a better fit for the car and how I feel about it. On the flip side, I'd likely go with the Inconel on a PDK GT4.

Either way, it's nice to have some options

My problem is that I'd obsess over making the wrong decision without properly hearing both

What is your goal? Overall good system, or that + highest pitch? The system itself is superb in either alloy - that's been well documented.

My 2c is that the inconel is the premium system. Primarily due to weight advantage. As for sound, I have heard both back-to-back and I personally couldn't tell the difference. That's not to say there isnt a difference.

If in doubt, get inconel. I have SS, but zero regrets.

If I don't like the system after having it for awhile, I'll sell it (and it seems these Kline systems are easy to sell). If I do like it, then it doesn't matter that I didn't chose inconel.

Life is too short to obsess over these decisions. Speaking from experience

If I could hear them back to back I'd be able to make a decision immediately. Either they'd sound the same to me and I'd go SS. Or one would sound better (to me) than the other and I'd go with that one...
What sounds better to me? That would be too difficult to describe and often I wouldn't know until I actually heard it.

I appreciate that. Makes sense... and I'm guessing to most they would probably sound the same.

I haven't heard stainless and Inconel back-to-back but have heard both and don't remember them sounding that different.

Where do people post their used Kline systems for sale? The marketplace is always barren!

All I can tell you is that I haven’t heard the inconel and I’m completely satisfied with the stainless. Even when i eventually do hear the inconel, it won’t matter, the current system has met my needs 100%

People tend to keep them unless trading in their cars. When they do go for sale, they sell quickly.

Perhaps we can solve the inconel v stainless by early October? I’ll be at RRVII with the inconel version and would imagine there will be others with the stainless version.

Jim, the system only comes with the back box and OAP - you can't just do one. Designing the two pieces together, as it turns out, was a very wise move for Kline.
