The Kline system is pretty much a no compromise system. I would never do what Terry describes above, and that is the reason a lot of landed here. If Soul can re-design their system and compete on the Kline quality, cost and performance then the community will be better served.

My SS Kline catback was delivered today and I'm super excited to get it installed - thanks Eric@@SupremePower ! I did not option heat shielding on the OAPs per my discussion with Eric a few weeks back, but have since been thinking that it would be "nice to have." I ordered some sheets of aluminum heat shielding and stainless straps, but just remembered that stainless and aluminum are corrosive when paired together. I'm not sure if this is a material concern given it'll be a relatively loose wrap around the exhaust with the stainless straps securing it. Thoughts on whether this may end up being a problem and I should avoid this DIY mod? Nothing has been done, so no harm, no foul if I ended up aborting this idea...
I like that I have the heat shielding on my exhaust for the peace of mind that it gives me, but simultaneously wish that it were louder. Just something to think about.

Bear in mind that the heat shielding can also make the exhaust quieter, according to Kline - at least in comparison to the normal version. Bigger difference on inconel too.

I have both the OAPs and box with the shielding, just as an FYI.

Lol, was told opposite. Mine is SS though, not Inconel.

Gotchu covered my friend
Need to. Inconel so much better under load compared to stainless.

So here's what the exhaust looks like with 6000 km's on it. I am going to throw the shaft collars on with the goal of a little more volume valves closed and maybe a smoother transition open to closed. I was positioning them and realized I could see the valve flap. That's and advantage because you can decide how open you want it. The consensus (I believe) on the general collar thread was that a little goes a long way. The collar can only go so high (more closed) because it hits the curved part of the pin assembly. This is where Josh has them, and you can see that it is almost closed. I think I will likely put them there too but I did experiment and slide them lower (more open) to see how much it would change. Photos below.
Generally, I like the valves closed sound so I won't be cranking it open very much.

I would appreciate an update with your findings once you are up and running again. I have collars arriving tomorrow for a Kline system to be installed on Wednesday. My plan is to install collars before the exhaust goes on and I would love to hear your feedback on placement. I am hoping I can get collar positioning right the first time while the exhaust is much easier to access!
