Just loud. Nothing like a Porsche.

This is a sensible approach. It's clear that everyone has their strong preference on exhausts. I like a little ragged breakup in a Porsche exhaust like the Schmid with OPF delete. I find that some systems end up having the car sound more like the pitch of a superbike. I don't want my 718 to sound like a 981 nor a GT3, I don't know what it should sound like yet but given I haven't heard a clear winner so far I believe I will be taking the above approach.

ok, disconnected the vacuum lines over the weekend, valves open all the time. Definitely louded than stock under 4k rpm and can hear the downshift blips now.

Just read that CHP issued 33 tickets for loud exhausts on PCH in south Orange County over the weekend. Supposedly, the city of Laguna Beach alone issued 300 tickets for speeding and/or loud exhausts in the month of April alone.

You might be surprised to hear that a 718 GT4 / Spyder with our non silenced valved race pipe installed is still quieter than a stock 981 GT4 / Spyder. I know that doesn't fit with your response but they're the facts. Are you concerned about a loud exhaust ticket when driving your Spyder?

Weight saving, power and torque increase along with a huge improvement in sound QUALITY vs OEM with a subtle and appropriate dB increase.

This is very interesting info. I find the stock sound level of the 981 Spyder perfect. If your 718 Spyder non silenced valved race pipe is still quieter, then that’s the one I’d pick instead of the silenced version.

Technical question: what do the valves add to your non silenced race pipe? Does it really make a difference to close the valves on the non silenced? Does the non silenced race pipe drone at any rpm range?

Stock 981 GT4 is 99.5dB on drive by.. Our 718 non silenced valved race pipe is 99dB our silenced is 96dB

Without the valves the bottom end is just boom, not a nice noise with little tone. The valves allow us to control the sound curve and tune the sound to make for more of a natural build up. Loud when you want it to be and not all the time.

There is always the option to unplug the valves but I doubt anyone will feel the need, we have worked really hard to tune this system to work perfectly with the valves operating.

This would be my preference, nice sound, the ability to control the volume, I like to be able to fly under the radar in places loud is not warranted or appreciated, and on any setting it has to sound like a Porsche!

I did like the sound of the cat-back on my 981 3.4l but without valves it was not stealthy, setting off car alarms in parkades got old real quick.

My comment had nothing to do specifically with your product or anyone else's. Just a general FYI to the Southern Cal folks on here in case they hadn't seen the news.
