Maybe i am the only one but il like his review. He is lucky to have the opportunity to drive all those special car. He is an enthusiasm like me . I watch him to explore car i will never have the chance to own in my life. He never pretend his a racecar driver with skills . For the driving experience i agree rampe and highway are not representative . But overall i like his energy and passion. Maybe because is a normal guy like me. I hate other narcissist youtube guy that use that platform to show only their $$$ but not enjoying at all car they own for 200 miles and buy after the next "saveur du jour \ flavor of the day "...
My top 4 (Harris,Catchpole,Camissa and Demuro).
My 2 cents...

I actually find Doug's reviews extremely helpful. He drives the car the way I do, on the street. The reviews I find least helpful are track press junkets where journalists take their turn following a pace car lapping some track one after the other for 15 minutes at a time and then all post the same review. Same car, same day, same track, same experience, none of which involved driving the car on the actual roads in California where I live. That's not how I use the car. As much as I admire Chris Harris' descriptive prose and driving skills, I find his most of his reviews so track-focused and drifty that they miss the mark for me.

Doug used to work for Porsche and daily drove multiple 911s. He knows his stuff. He fully admits he isn't a porsche superfan or a rennlist regular so he probably doesn't know or care about how to get deviated stitching on your leather covered steering column, but he has driven EVERYTHING and has a very helpful real world point of view. And if you watched his review on the 718 GT4 it's basically his favorite car on the planet at any price, and was a major reason why I bought my car. I find his presenting style annoying and wish he would talk in a more conversational tone which he does occasionally.

There are a handful of opinions on the internet that I care about, he is one of them.

Completely agree, and I'd add Harry Metcalfe to your list.

Anyone know what other options weigh?

PCCB half’s the weight of the stock brakes I read one place, not sure how many kgs, but must be considerable.

Mag wheels minus 10kgs

see
In a 911 video I watched today it was stated that PCCB saves 37 pounds over the standard brakes.

It was Doug D's video from April 20, 2021 on the 992 GT3. Start watching at 6:20 time stamp.
37 pounds = 17kg

And I wonder if the non WP base rubber type dash covering material, is still present, when the RaceTex upper dash covering is used for the WP?

If you plan to track...IMO the better value is saving the $$$ on PCCBs and later get the AP RadiCal kit....better braking power/modulation , almost the same weight as the PCCBs, way less $$$ to maintain and you will be able to use 19" wheels.
Then if you plan to sell the car you put back your brand new OEM disc/calipers/pads.
I have been thinking about this a lot and looks like this will be my plan coupled with a set of custom 19" wheels (also not going for the WP Mag wheelset, even that I really like the design).

19" wheels barely fit with the 718 GT4 380mm rotors. On the RS the fronts are 408mm. Are you sure AP will be able to develope a kit so 19" wheels will be able to be used?

If the front brakes are basically the same as the 992 GT3 then yes, they already have the kit and 19" fit. They go from 408 mm discs to 394 mm. You can even do just the front if you are OK with different calipers.

I remember a technical explanation on this from years ago, that the leather trimmed interiors actually weighed less than the plastic ones, because the outer shell plastic of the dash was actually heavier.

As I recall the official 'ring time for the GT4RS was done with the front fender louvers covered by speed tape. (This was prior to the reveal)
If so, the front end was likely light thru the high speed sections and harder to rotate for high speed corners.
A better time may have been left on the table had they wanted one...

Custom 19s will fit over the factory carbon ceramic brakes, which are 410mm. It is tight, but can be done. By comparison, there is plenty of clearance on the factory steel brakes with 19s.
