On the configurator it showed the forged magnesium wheels within the WP at $0 added cost (which was shocking).
This was about an hour ago.
I’m wondering if the configurator still has some “bugs”. It makes no sense that the Arctic and Shark paints are the same cost as the “middle choice” metallic paints.
At the dealer yesterday morning, we built a car and the configurator worked but it was VERY slow. He suspected it was overwhelmed with activity, and I wonder if the problems everyone was seeing (WP not available, etc) was because of a “mini-crash” of the system due to everyone going on at the same time to build their car.
UPDATE: I just went back into the configurator. It now shows the $15,640 for the forged mag wheels on top of the WP $13,250. That makes much more sense than what I saw earlier.

All options seem to be available on the configurator, but it “freezes” on the info screen and requires back-arrow to change the page.
Correct me if I’m wrong: if one doesn’t like the “standard” wheel choice, the ONLY way to get the alternate wheel is with Weissach package. Once selecting Weissach, the alternate wheel is included at no addition cost above the $13, 250. Since WP seems to be primarily cosmetic touches (no significant weight savings), the “real” value is the alternate forged magnesium wheels.
I do not like the look of the standard wheels, but not sure I’d choose WP to ONLY get wheels I prefer. I’m not certain I’d want all the exposed exterior carbon fiber. I’d have to see in person to know (and I suppose if I am at the “back-of-the-line” there’s a decent chance I’d see some examples before I must finalize my build).
I love my 718 GT4 PDK (PTS Slate Grey Y97). The RS version is tempting for many reasons, but I’m also wondering if I want to spend more for a car that’ll be significantly less comfortable (stiffer suspension/ride) and louder in the cabin. And….will I like the Arctic Gray as much as my PTS Slate? Can’t know that until seen in person.
The good news (assuming I get a build slot) is that I’d probably have at least a year or more to decide.

Um, that is entirely wrong. It's macpherson subaru setup at all 4 corners.

My dealer has come through for every GT car we’ve wanted, so I have no reason to believe they wouldn’t get me a build for this version. And I don’t need to be one of the first. It gives me more time to enjoy the car that just arrived in June.

Well most should be happy since the GT3 engine had a 1500 km countdown timer for break in instead of the proverbial 2000 miles with the GT4 engine.
