CXX option but my dealer asks me for the code....

AP jumped the gun on that on IG. Supposedly its still in feasibility study; at least for the US. You and/or your dealer might contact Porsche Spain and inquire with them. There are still country dependent options that don't appear in other countries: like large gas tank is not an option in the US but is in your country.

I don't get why we can't get the expanded tank in the US.

Is anyone in the US actually doing a real order yet?

I don't think there are any 'real' allocations yet in the US... So while some might have a config into their dealer, until it's matched with a dealer allocation, I wouldn't personally consider that a 'real' order.

This. If someone says they have a order in in the US, they are Full of it. No allocations have been given...thats a fact as of this moment in time. Now if you are a 918 VIP....its a different story, but thats the exception.

I shared in the allocation thread and confirmed by others as recently as today- Porsche is contacting 918 owners directly for the initial allocations and completely cutting out the dealers in the US. My dealer was not happy as they no longer will get the allocations they were expecting. Unless you are a VIP/918 owner in the US, you don’t have an allocation and won’t for some time.

The GT4 got way better gas mileage than my GT3 and GT3RS so the smaller gas tank isn't an issue. I'm guessing the GT4RS will get worse gas mileage than the GT4 due to the bigger engine though.

Not a bigger engine than the GT4, just a better engine (fuel consumption aside)…..

Cheers,
Harry.

The 4RS has even lower gearing than the GT3 (quite a bit lower). Can’t imagine fuel economy being much better than in GT3 with the same engine and lower gearing.

I'm not sure on that. The video is misleading here. Afterall the GT4RS runs on smaller tires versus the 992 GT3: 245/255 & 295/315.

I think it’s a bigger gearing difference than that, if you are assuming both cars use the same PDK gearing. Of course the 992 GT3 uses 315 21” wheels (so an additional 5% taller gearing from the wheel diameter) in addition to the taller sidewalls, But I suspect it’s even more than just the tire diameter at play (wouldn’t be surprised if there is bespoke gearing - it certainly looks that way to me).

In any case, the effective gearing in 4RS is significantly lower than GT3 and the aero profile is not radically more efficient, so I wouldn’t expert better fuel economy than PDK GT3.

The lower gearing in the GT4RS is a feather in its cap for those considering a GT4RS vs a GT3. Also makes me interested in a Spyder RS as a companion to my 991.2 GT3.

Does anyone know if the Standard door sills are plastic or non-illuminated Carbon? Wondering if the Illuminated 530$ option is for the Carbon + Illumination, or just the illumination part.

The video of the car around the track shows them in Carbon but no idea about the illuminated part.

Go to the configuratior and read the STD equipment list. 😁
