I just got word from Porsche yesterday that my estimated delivery is 7/22. Then I heard all the wiring delay issues. I wonder if this date is taking the delays into account or not.

I burst into laughter at the start.... just so cheeky... then the end offers 10% off legal services, which may be coincidental but also made me laugh, given Farah's approach to the embargo!

IMO, for the money the GT4 RS will cost, it is a bit of a letdown. The additional power is great, but otherwise, I am not super impressed, especially for the cost.

What is this “pogo stick” front suspension effect you’re talking about, and where so you see this in the video? It’s the same front suspension as the GT3 RS and GT2 RS.

You can see it at 4:43 & 6:07. That should be a one and done movement. The vertical movement should be a single stroke event, not several oscillations.

Also, watch this video and see how much more the car moves around compared to the GT3...

Are you aware that the entire front suspension is lifted off the GT3? In the GT4 as well as in the RS.

That WAS the case, no longer is the case. Shares a caliper with the 992 is about it.

What's cool is that the GT4 rear suspension is 991 GT3 based as well...it was a mirror of the front 991 GT3 setup.

DUH!!! That doesn't mean much really.

The suspension pieces might be the same, but the damping is not. Also the GT3 has a multilink rear, the GT4 strut. You can not talk about the front-end in isolation, it is one piece in the overall system.

The GT4 & GT4 RS is NOT a well sorted car on anything other than smooth pavement.

I just replaced my PASM with MCS 2-way remote dampers and the difference is HUGE when on broken pavement, dips in the road, undulations, etc.

In both those spots in the video, I see and hear a bigger movement from the front axle going over the bump followed by smaller movement from the rear axle doing the same. I'm not seeing any bouncing around in the video, nor have I ever experienced such a "pogo stick" effect in my Spyder.

As for the Nurgurgring video, the car does look rather loose in there, though it's not clear why (maybe different driving style, different alignment setting, different tire and pavement condition etc). The GT4 is generally a pretty stable and controllable car, and previous Porsche published videos on the ring (981 GT4 and 982 GT4 MR) have looked pretty planted and stable.

Of course the YouTube analyst is quick to identify issues with the RS suspension that Porsche engineers just flat out missed.

This may be heresy but the GT4 RS without the Mezger engine is much ado about nothing. For the money I’d take a stock GT4, dial in the suspension with the aftermarket parts available and have Deman do a 4.5L motor. Probably be in for less money, considering ADM, and would most certainly turn better lap times.

But you wouldn’t have the cache of owning an RS.
