675LT seems to be gaining legendary status and is priced attractively. I'd be pretty tempted if reliability wasn't an issue on those.

You can purchase a factory McLaren warranty on cars up to 10 years old. Kinda pricey though, even on a 570S it's like $4500/year. Routine maintenance is on the order of $1500/year though. Here's a good blog post on maintenance cost of someone who's owned over half a dozen:

That's half of it, but I just don't see the track becoming enough of a part of my life to justify that track-focused a car. Some DEs over the course of each year seems a poor justification for a 4rs. lol But I have always been a boxster guy, from way back.

Most of them won't ever see the track ADM or no ADM. I never see RS's show up at the track. I almost never see GT3s show up. Used 911s and cayman and boxsters are fairly common once they hit a certain age.

IMO the few that would actually bring an RS end up bringing their cup car or another flavour of the month car they just happen to own they rather drive that day. The rest it's too much car and they're terrified of taking it to the track or they're always working or doing something else and have no time.

The 675 is worthy of legendary status. I’ve owned one for years and haven’t had any problems with it. Truly an epic car that has no right being valued below a Pista or GT2 RS that are not nearly a exciting to drive or ballistic feeling as the LT. The original promo videos might push you over the edge. I wish McLaren still used the same advertising company that produced these…

Thank me later

Highest concentration of GT3/GT3 RS from the 996 to now in all of PCA has been Rennsport Region (Eastern Ontario & Quebec).
At least 1/3 of DE participants are in GT3/GT3 RS/GT2/GT2 RS of various generations.

At least they’re being properly used.

What groups/tracks do you run? I find that there is considerable variation by region and track organization with what cars show up.

I have to say that I really love those guys from Rennsport Region. Even if you cannot speak French they are a fantastic group to run with, especially at LCMT (Le Circuit Mont Tremblant). Driver Education events there with Rennsport are also more reasonable in cost than doing the same type event there with, for example, Northeast Region. If I were not so old, and if both my adult children did not live in southern ME/NH, I would love to live there, though it would have to be several kilometers outside the Town of Mont Tremblant (real estate costs). And, as a cantankerous, irascible old curmudgeon I'm not sure they'd want me as a long-term resident.

If you have never driven LCMT you really owe it to yourself to get there ASAP as I understand the land the circuit is on is for sale. Who knows how that will end? The general public would rather see a golf course there with expensive fairway-side homes, which would be quiet and bring in lots of Canadian tax dollars. I won't be able to go there in 2022 because I doubt I will even see the CGTS I ordered in September in time for the season- even if Omicron or some other mutation does not close the border again. BTW, the last time I checked RR would accept only Porsches at their DE events. They would probably be overwhelmed with other makes otherwise.

And Mont Tremblant is actually a great ski mountain/resort as well. Temps can get a bit nippy in the winter. Geez, I sound like the Trip Advisor guy. Sorry, just got carried away.

I plan to track mine. Exclusively. But, I admit that it will cause me to think twice if it becomes worth stupid money because Porsche made it impossible to get one. That might ruin my track plans.

Wait, no, it will not. I will triple wrap it, lick the stamp, and send it. See you'll out there!

Interesting. Down here at COTA, there are always tons of GT3/GT3RS/GT4/GT4 clubsport/911 cup cars on track as well as many other exotics and race cars. I will certainly be on track with mine if I am lucky enough to get a GT4RS!

I agree, perhaps it depends on the track organizers you usually run with?

Up here in NorCal, I usually run with Hooked on Driving. The days I attend usually have a lot of GT3 RSs, GT3s and GT4s. Mixed in with a good number of McLarens, Corvettes, M2s, and the odd Ferrari or two.
