When the 718 GT4 was released, I was disappointed that FAL was not an option, but after using the car in the real world for over a year, I don't feel like it's needed on this car. the front and rear overhangs are shorter on the 718 chassis than a 911 is. .
On the GT4RS though, you probably would want FAL for loading your GT4RS on and off your enclosed trailer when you transport it to the Cars and Coffee parking lot.
Also IIRC, the FAL option on a 991 added about 20lbs to curb weight
So... 991.2 had 500 hp as well. Not the slight bump the 992 got. It did the Ring on Cup2's. Not Cup2R's. It did a 7:12.7.
GT4RS did a 7:04.5. It's 8 seconds faster.
Haven't they said the Cup2R's are good for about 8 seconds?
So are they bang-on identical in performance?
Depends, on the 992 GT3 the Cup 2Rs were worth ~10 seconds over the regular Cup 2's based on an interview of Lars Kern.

Even on the less-aggressive Cup 2s, Kern estimates the new GT3 should be "at least" seven or eight seconds quicker than the old GT3, though Porsche hasn't measured official lap times on the standard-equipment tires. He also points out that the Cup 2 Rs aren't one-lap wonders, either—the GT3 was able to run two back-to-back sub-seven-minute laps on the same set of tires with little loss of performance.
This new GT3 generates way more downforce than the old one, around 824 pounds at maximum, which isn't far from what the old GT3 RS made. "The aero balance was just perfect. You have slight understeer in big corners, because you don't want to be sliding at 137 mph, but the car is still agile in medium-speed corners... the aero balance is more on the nose and this gives you the turn-in you need to get lap time out of the car," Kern says. "I just arrived and was like, 'Oh f###, that's good.'"
Yeah...Andre said the front was a bit wider so it likely affected air flow to the side intake. The cutout appears to give more direct air to flow directly to the side intake.
I just see the paint there taking a beating from road debris.
Don't see this as a problem. Just get a Euro aspheric driver's side mirror and will never have to check over shoulder again.
It is not the driver's side that it is the problem, the passenger side view in the direction of the rear quarter window in the GT4 will now be gone... and I am not thinking of lane changes or people over taking, more about traffic merges from the right side or turning left out of a parking lot or driveway.
Combine the right 3/4 view being blocked, the low height of the car with high waistline and then if you sit low in the seat... seeing anything off in that direction can be a real challenge.

I still don't think it will be worse than any Boxster with the top up.

They sell the aspherical mirror for passenger side too. Can totally see the blind spot.
