So use that as an anchor.

Also, that time is a pretty frenetic undertaking, if you know what I mean. He said he matched it like a brisk lap as opposed to hanging it out there.

I have no idea what tires were on the car, and that’s a valid point. I think if they were something special he woulda mentioned it.

I was there at Chin but didn’t see a 992.
I'm at 107 braking into T19 after the carousel in my 718 GT4 on a 2:28 lap on street tires in hot weather (red arrow in graph below), so I would expect quite a big delta for a 992 GT3 given my experience driving GT3s at COTA.

It was the Chin event

Kudos on your time, too.

Gt4 / spyder + RS variants are very likely the end of the mid-engined NA ICE breed. IE collectible. Just sayin.

good speed. What do you use for data capture? I have AIM and generally a hatred for it.

Dang, I hit 152 on the main stretch. I guess I am just being a baby on the carousel...

I think the 992 gt3 comes with a 80TW tire in the good year super sport R vs. the Cup 2 I assume we are talking about on 1.2 GT3 speed through COTA carousel. That said, a 992 gt3 spanked me and other 1.2 GT3s at sonoma last weekend and was significantly faster in high speed sections. 992 GT3 over GT4RS all damn day at the same price point.

I don't think there's any debate on that point. Porsche is masterful at market segmentation, so it's very unlikely that they'll price the GT4RS directly against the GT3. Maybe an optioned to the gills GT4RS will come close to the GT3's base price, but I can't imagine many people are speccing stripper GT3's.

This.....IMO they will price it well below the 992 GT3 but once you pile the options it will start to get close to a base GT3.
I still think it will be a bit above the mid point between a GT4 and a GT3.....base price

Yep, and with the higher ADMs I’ve heard, it will be close to on level.

Remember the GT3 will also carry ADMs...so basically both of them will be priced well above MSRP by most dealers.

No extra cost at my dealer for any of the "special low volume P cars" or the GT3, GT3RS, Cayman GT4 or the upcoming GT4RS... You pay the MSRP of your build, period.

I use an AIM solo. Basic setup, but when I overlay my laps I can see where I can improve. VBOX looks like a very nice upgrade, if a small fortune for data.

152 on the back straight is strong for a GT4, do you have headers/tune? I can only 150+ when I draft behind a GT3 NASCAR style.

I used to really crawl through the carousel until I rode with former Stig Ben Collins. He demonstrated how to send it through there. sideways. one handed. while on the radio to the cars behind. Did I mention Ben can drive?

Same case with my dealer.....what you get on the configurator is what you pay so the only problem is the dealer getting enough allocations and being early on the list....it does help when you have purchased several cars from them.
