It ain't about math, it's about emotion. As soon as you put something very desirable and scarce into a competition between others to buy, people start getting emotionally invested. Price it higher to start with and it may be the same cost, but it would lack the hype.

These are two different solutions but using the same torque multiplying driver, the one Matt shows on Obsessed Garage replaces the OEM Porsche nut assembly to one developed by HYTORC, the system pictured on the Dundon's site is for use with OEM nut and uses a reaction arm pressing against the spokes (IMHO not the best plan). For more information after watching the video from Matt check out this thread started by @GrantG More info on fancy electric tool for Centerlocks - Rennlist - Porsche Discussion Forums
However neither system has been released for sale yet.
Any update Matt? @Money2536

The previous link posted shows that a preview will happen a couple days earlier. Why be late to the party?

I may be in the minority on this, but I think the demand for the 4RS is going to be lower than people expect. Even if it's an awesome car, people need to remember that a stupid high percentage of the 3RS's are purchased by people who never go near the track and many probably will never even drive the car hard. They buy it because its the Big Bad, plain and simple. And we all know, no matter how Bad the 4RS is, it's still going to be the lesser child in a lot of Porschefile's eyes. And the fact is that most, not all but most, Cayman buyers aren't in the same price range as the typical GT3 buyer, so selling a $165k+ GT4 en masse is going to require GT3 buyers to step down to the 4RS.
I think there will be a group of die hards that'll do that and pay a premium for this car up front, but I think that group is smaller than people think. And I think if Porsche were to produce 4,000 of them, they'd struggle to sell all of them for what we all know will be a pretty high sticker.

I really hope that's not true and there are more of them for mere mortals to get and enjoy. For all the effort that went into them... they should be a step up for owners. Not a step down.

The cars are gonna be wasted. Those guys already have GT3RS's. This will be a step down for them. Again... a big slap in the face to all the fans of the platform that this SHOULD be for.

I agree but...in our market half of 981 GT4s were purchased by VIPs that had GT3s, GT3RS, etc.....for them it was just another toy in the collection, the new car from Porsche, while still keeping the top-end toys. Most of those cars ended up sold in less than 2 years.
The 718 Gt4 was different as it wasn't a big change from the 981..but this 4RS will bring back the nonsense
