Yeah that's what everyone keeps saying but that seems like an awful low volume for a two year production run. Where is this info coming from?

I've heard it from a Rennlist official cleaning lady and a very connected VIP

Yes it's all a big conspiracy and we're all in on it. They are actually making 20,000 cars

I get the feeling that more people would want a GT4RS at $150k MSRP + $50k ADM than would want one at $200k + $0 ADM.

I may be in the minority on this, but I think the demand for the 4RS is going to be lower than people expect. Even if it's an awesome car, people need to remember that a stupid high percentage of the 3RS's are purchased by people who never go near the track and many probably will never even drive the car hard. They buy it because its the Big Bad, plain and simple. And we all know, no matter how Bad the 4RS is, it's still going to be the lesser child in a lot of Porschefile's eyes. And the fact is that most, not all but most, Cayman buyers aren't in the same price range as the typical GT3 buyer, so selling a $165k+ GT4 en masse is going to require GT3 buyers to step down to the 4RS.

I think there will be a group of die hards that'll do that and pay a premium for this car up front, but I think that group is smaller than people think. And I think if Porsche were to produce 4,000 of them, they'd struggle to sell all of them for what we all know will be a pretty high sticker.

The info I had heard suggested 2200 or less worldwide production. 4000 units would be a lot.

The thing with the GT4RS is that there is a sizable contingent of Porsche buyers who will just buy whatever GT car Porsche releases as a matter of course. First, you have the 918 VIPs. Then you have those folks who buy several Porsches a year just because. Then you have the price insensitive whales who will buy whatever it is at a substantial markup because there's hype around it. If there are only going to be around 1000 of these cars a year, there'll still be many more buyers than there are cars to sell.

There are about 200 Porsche dealerships in the US. Even if the US gets around 1000 cars, that's still only 5 cars per year for each dealer. Substract maybe 200 for the 918 VIP's, and now you're at maybe 4 cars per dealer per year.

Porsche hasn't even really met demand for regular GT4's. It ain't gonna be any better for the GT4RS.

However neither system has been released for sale yet.

Any update Matt? @Money2536

Well with todays latest public school programs and core class garbage etc.. it would not surprise me you get a different amount of buyer engagement with different math combinations but end up with same bank acct hit.

The GM at my local dealership in Canada told me that he was told 15 for Canada, and there’s over 20 dealerships. Said they got no allocations aside from one for a 918 owner.

That is a buzz kill. I think I will just do BGB or Deman motor build and add some Ohlins TTX and call it good.
