Sounds like there will need to be a group buy for this setup to even happen!

+1 for this tool. Centerlocks are such a pain without a precision tool like this.

Anyone with an idea on how Porsche would interpret warranty if replacing centerlock nuts with a non-factory part? Maybe some more info from Hytorc on the manufacture of the nut would be helpful.

Cool tool, but GTFO with $5k+. I'll use my giant torque wrench or my proto torque multiplier for the rest of my life before I'd spend that.

I'm not saying that the cost is crazy for what it is, but sometimes things just cost too much to make right.

Damn! 5k! That makes the RENNtorque look like a bargain at 2.5k! If I'm spending that much money, I'd just take it to the dealership and get new bolts/nuts every time I change the wheels, after the dealer is done #$%-ing up the center lock bolt/nut.

If you are constantly changing wheels by yourself and don't mind spending the money it seems like a no brainer to me. But I'm biased, they used my car for a video shoot with this.

yup, no way. I’m willing to pay $200K for a Porsche. There is no substitute. For. $5K center lock tool, yes, there is a substitute.

The Hytorc guys reached out to me to put this out there to gauge interest. Joel was pretty tight lipped about pricing because they haven't done the analysis on what this will cost to produce. I'm sure they know the tool well. The regular version of the tool they sell in other industries retails for $4800. Then we need the socket and 4 new replacement nuts. My guess is that this will retail around $6,000. I know many won't buy it at that price, but I would knowing I plan to have a GT Porsche for the rest of my life (God willing...). My guess is there are many others that would do so as well. I did make a strong case that if this could be done for sub $3500, that almost all mechanically included Porsche centerlock owners would buy it. Hytorc is watching and will most certainly be putting pen to paper and doing some calculations on how many they think we can sell. The more that can be sold, the lower the retail.

you would think they would know you back off 90 not 60 if you are making a promotional video

If its $5K I don't think they will sell too many, its not particularly onerous to use the precision tools.

Milwaukee Tool makes a gun like this without some of the bells and whistles, and it is nowhere near that expensive.

I think many will. I'm definitely in, just let me know when it's ready to go.

This tool i assume would have to be sent out to be calibrated after so many use cycles or time intervals??

I've got 2 sets of wheels worth over 15K. I swap them out about 4 times a year. $3k I'm definitely in. $5K I'd still be thinking hard about it. Maybe not today but picking it up later in a year or so.
