Thanks for posting, and my favorite quote: “American customers aren’t asking for four cylinders, they're asking for four litres,” he said.

The GT4 reintroduced Porsche's flat-six to the Cayman line after the latest redesign replaced it with a turbocharged flat-four. That 4.0-liter makes 414 horsepower. The RS's six will also displace 4.0 liters, but in the vein of the 690-hp 911 GT2 RS, figure on output approaching 500.

OMG, this would be incredible but really, +75hp from the current 9A2 Evo engine, that remains to be seen!

I like those NACA ducts in the hood in the Autocar piece.

What are they cooling, the matching luggage?

Really
Yes, it really would be incredible
I was thinking 440-445
500 seems like quite a stretch but would be nice if they "unshackle" the Cayman
with DeMan and BGB making 4.5l and 4.2l Caymans, why not?

It will be more interesting to see what they do with the rear suspension, torque profile, gearing and PDK calibration - I suspect it will have around 435-440PS ~ 20 more than the GT4

IIRC the engines being built by DeMan and BGB are based on 9A1 or older blocks which is a completely different beast.

Wow, that didn't take long at all! So using the current block for the 9A2 Evo engine you figure your can get it to 4.5l?

Are you changing the bore or going for a stroker?
