Any Rennlisters from New Zealand?

Integra was $2,500 for a full cage. A surprising part of that is MSNZ fees. To do a really nice effort I'd say $3,500 +

http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/spec...-961440713.htm Or buy this and throw away after the Festival?? Macca - we should go halves, share the enduro drive and call it an adventure? Given it's not valuable, you could lean on people through corners and become very wide to pass, a bit like a 2K Cup honda with a loose exhaust?? Edit - on re-reading it only has a half cage??
10 owners @ 7,500 each. Massive number of driver changes. Might just work.....
haha problem is I'm already frothing over the street/track 2 setup on elephant racing's website... yeah the carbs will be interesting, was loud with a dual exhaust.
The car came on original 16" Fuchs. The 930 doesn't have a set so will probably put these aside and find some replicas.
Signed up for 28th October twilight session, cant wait.

For those looking to buy parts from the US in the near future you may want to consider loading your USD account up over the next short while, as the NZD enjoys a bit of a well earned recovery. Id imagine that this will be relatively short lived however...

I've become numb to the pain of exchange rates and am definitely no longer toting up the cost of this 'light' renovation. I dread looking for trim as the pricing is a crap shoot e.g. to replace the black mouldings on the door tops and rear quarter is close to $600 landed. The felt wiper inside the door is $360 a pair. Although good news on the latter as John noted that they are the same as the Ghia and cost me $125 a pair. Good old Porsche tax.

I hate to tell you this John but given the average caucasian male life expectancy in Kohi I suspect you will be doing this all again before you kick the bucket!! I put my 993 on the hoist at CCS two weeks ago and went around it with a fine tooth comb and can pretty much say that the rubber and plastic trim items purchased new during my glass out resto back in 2005 are between 30% and 70% lifed after 10 years (car always dry stored and sees relatively little weather hot, wet or cold). Some items have already been replaced due to track day and targa excursions (guard liners and brake duct scoops as well as a number of fasteners and nuts and bolts all been shaken loose) but others have just slowly aged as they do. I note the light bars and indicators etc don't have a long life with the plastics discolouring and getting heat haze and UV damage after a decade or so
And now for something completely different...
Spotted this while perusing Trademe...

What a bizarre Porker - has (most of) the body shell of a 944 but is listed as a 924. The narrower track just makes it look slightly... odd

The felt piece on the 964 is riveted to the body. $100 each side, landed.
Much of the rubber trim is quite affordable and I have only replaced the smile and hood rubber as big pieces so I don't feel too hard done by there. I have not had to replace any of the window rubber. Btw Aerospace protectant did a beautiful job of bringing the rear quarter interior rubber back to as new look. Not shiny at all.
This is a oncer for me. I will pull the engine and box every two years to do the 20,000 km maintenance but there will be no more resprays.

Nice work Pel. Love to check it out if you're still living just round the corner.
And nice work John; can't wait to see the final result in Dec.
These prices in NZ are surely hard to fathom. That 3.3T on TM had me a little concerned so I swung by CCS and got a valuation for Mr Blue. Jaw dropping. Now I appreciate an insurance valuation is one thing and finding a buyer is another but it amounts to around a 150% increase in three and a half years. Surely I've got to consider selling it? Or are these prices targeting offshore buyers? Does that matter? But then, what would I replace it with and will I ever own another? I have to be mad tracking it (and after all its not an optimal track performer but I really like driving the Turbo on the track). Is it a bubble, and if it is, does it matter? Or will the prices keep going up? Like Grandad used to say, should have kept the Buick 90.
What's a guy to do?

Jason, SELL and recycle the money into objects you will use more regularly. I did that and haven't looked back.
With all due respect the 964 Turbo is not a track car and unless you can afford to keep a garage queen for decades then you will sell at some stage. Sell while the market is bouyant. One international finance hit and the buyers will disappear.
