Cayman

who did you hear paint to sample would be available from in August?

I ask because if that is the case I would pass and do a paint to sample

From someone in the UK on Pistonheads:
"Was informed yesterday that paint to sample will be available from august in the spyder. I enquired about the possability of gulf blue with signal orange wheels & stripes or silver with red wheels. Porsche said it should be no problem with the wheels but they couldn't confirm the availability of the Porsche decals coming in anything other than black, shouldn't be too dificult though?"

Half way down the page:

Those that have a Spyder on order, you might want to check your estimated completion date again...

As of February 3rd, my order was pushed back from March 4th to April 1st!

There is an article of the Spyder in silver/red in the British Evo magazine of Feb.

Cayman, odd that yours has been moved back. did you make any changes to order shortly before it was locked down, after your initial configuration? did you order anything weird? Sometimes certain optional equipment can have its own delays. My available spyder is an april allocation with a scheduled build date in early March. My sold order has not changed dates, but its a May build, so I guess it still could.

I just checked for option availability updates, and no word on PTS for this car yet. I've heard specifically that it won't happen.

I don't think I have anything odd on my order.
Just out of curiosity what is your March build spec?

Thanks for your info... It's good to know that it's just my car and not a general production delay for all Spyders. It does seem odd that my estimated completion went from March 4th to April 1st... Especially when everyone else I see is getting bumped earlier not later. My dealer is investigating this week and I should know the details soon.

I remember a couple years ago, with an rs60, map pocket lights delayed a clients build a couple of months. it was quite strange. I've also seen orders get bumped back if a change is made at the last minute.

No problem... I was thinking the exact same thing with the flat black wheels. Much better than the Factory Gloss Back... Which are too much IMHO.

I think at the end I'll do the Titanium to match the intake color though:
