At $2,500 each, I bet they would, considering how many more they would sell across the sports car lineup.
Also consider that they are competing with aftermarket exhaust manufacturers (PSE is available at dealer parts counters) with much shallower pockets that charge a lot less for claimed performance increases, and are still profitable with CARB certification.
Besides, the dyno doesn't show any increase in peak numbers, so there is no real 'increase' in horsepower or torque for certification purposes. (And that is assuming one pull on one car, along with an undocumented internet post claiming the same benefit, is accurate information.)

I'd go for this car if there was a great hardtop option available. But I'll wait to see what others say about it first. I don't want to be a beta tester. If a removable hardtop option was available from the factory I'd be sold.

Nice! Your car is the earliest completion I've seen so far (stateside). You are just over a week before me... We might be on the same ship? We'll see!
Oh be sure to be on the lookout for your official Boxster Spyder hardback brochure... It comes with a bag made from the roof fabric and a pull tab that mimics the red interior pull tabs. Apparently Porsche is sending them to everyone who has a Spyder on order!

Hey Phil!
Haven't heard if Paint to Sample is available as yet on the Spyder, would be the holy grail that!
Sold my Boxster to a State Trooper, can you believe, maybe he remembered seeing me fly by!
I do miss the car and it's familiar driving style. I don't miss the lack of rear seats.
I'm sure once I've done my first DE (May '10) in the Carrera I'll be happier, or just plain scared!
For sure I'd like to pick up a Spyder (white with full red leather) in a few years, it would make for a killer pair. But first up my wife deserves a new house.

allocations
How would we find out the allocations for the Spyder in the US and then the ROW?
I am curious to know how many there will be ... the dealer in the area was allocated 3

So I know most big dealers got three cars allocated... not sure about the smaller dealerships... A smaller dealer in Spokane, WA I was talking to in December was only allocated one car. There is 220 dealers in the USA... My bet is around 500 cars were allocated for the USA.
I'll ask on Pistonheads to get a feel for the UK allocation for dealers.

Just got word from my dealer that my Spyder has moved from MFGCNF (Assigned Production Number) to PLPROD (Vehicle Planned for Production) status!
