Considering a Spyder. Quick question: is the Sport Exhaust option worth the $2500, or are there better aftermarket exhaust options?

What is the real deal with a/c?
The dealer says that unless he clicks on automatic climate control, the configurator asks him if he is sure he wants to delete A/C. In other words if I do not pay $1700 for auto climate control, no air conditioning. If this is not true, can someone provide me with a code for A/C no cost?

I would only do the porsche sport exhaust since the baffles and be turned on and off with driver input.

Rob,
A/C is not a no cost option. Like your dealer said, you have to get Auto Climate Control ($1700) to get A/C. A lot of magazines and websites have been publishing bad info.

I didn't order it... I figure if I didn't like the standard exhaust, I could have the dealer install the Porsche Sports Exhaust as it's available through the Tequipment catalog and the price isn't that different than ordering from the factory.

I didn't order the Sport Exhaust. It offers no horsepower gain, but adds weight and complexity. The opposite of the Spyder ethos.

Interesting... didn't know that the SE weighed more. I knew that it didn't have any performance advantage over the stock, which is why I didn't order it. Thanks again Alan.

Silver/black, radio, Bluetooth, UAI, the cheap interior package, model delete, and sport shifter. No AC.

Dealer said it would be here end of March, but I will believe that when I see it.

If there was a significant and consistent performance benefit, you can bet it would be advertised by Porsche...

Besides, that dyno run is for an M97 powered car.

They wouldn't advertise if it would require them to recertify the vehicles for additional horsepower. Especially given the low numbers.
