OK so if you deduct the time it took to put away the rear "screen" it's an under 2 min job, tops with experience. Would never use that screen anyway, I bet.

From personal experience I know that with the Boxster as a second car I had the top down most of the time and the AC off almost all of the time too. If I bought the Spyder as a third I could do without the top, AC and cupholders. I’d still like a radio (hell I don’t use the cupholder even today in my 997!)

I bet some of the new owners of these cars will soon tire of the labor involved in erecting the top which should bode well (!) for lower residuals. Unless of course there is a glut of Spyder purchasers waiting in the wings to prey on these early adopters. Lets hope not.

I do wonder about the design of the new Boxster (981?) will it have the Carrera CT like humps and an auto top? The new Boxster S will for sure be as quick as today’s Spyder, that’s just progress. Maybe this “Spyder” hype will die with the new body style?

PS don't order the painted roll hoops they'll for sure get scratched up with that erection.

There is no way I would want one after seeing that video. Still a beautiful car, but not for me.

Google Translate

Things to note:
-Black side intake vents (yet still has the titanium front)
-Black Turbo Wheels
-Polished Exhaust tips

Check out the pdf doc at the following thread over on the 997GT2/GT3 forum: https://rennlist.com/forums/997-gt2-...and-gt3rs.html

Bluetooth, floor mats and universal audio interface are now no-cost options on the Boxster Spyder! I selected them and my dealer confirms that the new order shows $0 cost for each of these items!! Nice. However, I did order the radio (with sound package plus, which is required), and apparently the order now shows a $700 charge for sound package plus (whereas the original order showed a cost of $0 for this option). I guess what the left hand giveth, the right hand taketh away!

Also interesting --> the steering wheel now appears to be all black (i.e., no volcano gray contrast) and artic silver metallic is now being replaced with platinum silver metallic.

Surely that's (the pdf info) only for 2011 MY cars?

Yes, that is how I read the announcement; and I am pretty sure the Boxster Spyder is a 2011 MY car, at least here in the United States.

I like. Well I used to have a GR Boxster - so no wonder!
Still think Silver, White or PtS blue would be best however, shows off the red accents better.

Same thing happened on my order. I had bluetooth on my list, which was $695, with the sound package free. Now bluetooth is free but the sound package is $700. I'm guessing that ordering the radio w/o sound package might have been the no cost option. I would have ordered it that way if I had a choice, as I plan to spend most of my time listing to the engine and not the radio.

hi guys,
picked up my Spyder last week (UK)
white, full alcantara (3 options - but they have missed the door inserts!), sports zorst, radio, usb, black wheels, sports chrono (installed but not working - needs resetting - apparently a known issue!)
striking car, sun and foul weather protector is pretty intuitive and with a bit of practice takes about 2-3 mins to either take off or put on.
drove back from dealership on motorway in monsoon like conditions and it kept me dry - literally felt 2 or 3 drops on my face during 150 plus miles of rain
looking forward to some nice dry weather...........!!
Andrew

Awesome!Congrats Andrew.

Is it manual shift or PDK?

A lot of folks would love to read your driving impressions, please give us a follow-up post after you have flogged it a bit?

Enjoy!
