LOL... I'll do the PS jobs after work tonight.
Shouldn't be an issue.

Just checked...order status is now...

Final production phase (PCNA code: PRDLST) This is the last checkpoint before your Porsche is considered completed.

Supposed to finish on 2/22/10

Unlike the Porsche website, based on what is shown above, it looks like the "Additional Interior Package" does not include the door insert in Alcantara. This irritates me.

The catalog linked does not appear to be for the US market. If Homelink is a stand-alone option here, I'm going to be very angry with both Porsche and my dealer. Anybody know for sure?

By doing away with order guides, it is no longer clear how cars are being configured. For a company that prides itself on personalization, and charges exorbitant amounts for options, this is inexcusable.

I'm assuming the door insert in alcantara is included with the 'additional interior package' if you order full leather which the car in the above photos doesn't have.

So I have an option to get a different car (through the same dealer):

BASE Boxster Spyder 61,200.00
B4 Carrara White .00
V9 Black Top .00
11 Black Stan Leather w/Alcantara .00
HNL Fabric Door Opening Loop .00
ROOF Manual Two Panel Roof .00
490 Sound Package Plus .00
573 Automatic Climate Control 1,760.00
P12 Self-Dim Mirrors & Rain Sensor 690.00
P74 Bi-Xenon Headlights 1,560.00
XLF Sport Exhaust System 2,500.00
XXZ Foot Rest Aluminum 250.00
619 Bluetooth Interface for Mobile .00
810 Floor Mats in Interior Color .00
870 Universal Audio Interface .00
585 Cup Holder .00
639 Sport Chrono Pkg W/Out PCM 960.00
695 CD-Radio Audio System CDR-30 .00

Or I can stick to my original order:
BASE Boxster Spyder 61,200.00
B4 Carrara White 0.00
V9 Black Top 0.00
21 Black Full Leather w/Alcantara 2,385.00
HNL Fabric Door Opening Loop 0.00
ROOF Manual Two Panel Roof 0.00
P74 Bi-Xenon Headlights 1,560.00
XCZ Sport Shifter 765.00
XXZ Foot Rest Aluminum 250.00
446 Wheel Caps with Colored Crest 185.00
573X No Air Conditioning 0.00
6999 No Stereo 0.00
XSC Porsche Crest in Headrest 285.00

The new car is completed two weeks before my original car, but chances are it'll be on the same boat as my original order.

For the lazy:
My car has Full Leather, Sport Shifter, Crest in Headrest
New car has A/C, Radio, Sport Exhaust, Cup holder, Sport Chrono, Self Dim Mirrors, Bluetooth

What to do.

Will your BS be a daily driver or just a fair weather weekend toy? If the former, I would definitely get the *new* car, with the additional creature comforts. Keep in mind that AC also helps with defrosting; and the additional weight (from AC and radio) isn't that great (probably around 40+ lbs or so). In fact, I wonder how the weight of the radio (in the *new* car) compares to the full leather treatment (in the *old* car); I bet the leather weighs more!

I have decided to proceed with my original order. I would regret not getting what I wanted from the beginning. It was nice that Sunset gave me the option though.

Hi all, I have also ordered one of these fantastic looking cars! Mine will come with A/c, PCM, xenon, extended alcantara pack and alcantara arm rest with Porsche lettering. I don't even have a confirmed build date yet so it is a long wait for me. I think this car is going to be great, and having owned a few variations of Boxster/Cayman/911, I think this one will be the best unless you are compare it to a GT3, and even then...

I would like to know the definitive difference between the Boxster S and the Spyder. This is what I gather so far. Would be great if others could add to this list so we have a common understanding of this! So here is what I know:

1. Steering rack appears to be different. Spyder is 2.5 turns lock to lock and Boxster S is 2.6.
2. Aluminium doors
3. Aluminium trunk/dome
4. -20mm suspension
5. Thicker anti-roll bars
6. Lightweight wheels
7. Diiferent roof
8. Different seats (although optional on Boxster S)
9. LSD (although optional on Boxster S) - can anyone confirm if this LSD is the same one as the optional LSD on Boxster S? One article I read appear to be suggesting that they are different
10. Different door cards (no storage)
11. Cayman S engine (does anyone know what is different about them internally?)

What else is missing?

Are these items now no cost options and included regardless? Or did you leave out the price here?

I noticed that too... More than likely an error.
