I decided several months ago to fix my cruise control for the trip to Frenzy. Complications ensued, but finally got the rebuilt "brain" back in last night. Took it for a test today - joy! Then did a test drive into the new garage.

The forward gears in the 89 are working. The Stepson now has new style 24# injectors with injector adaptors and runs great.

The GTS had a vacuum leak where the side plates for the intake manifold attach. I have spacers on both sides for aesthetics only and the bolts holding the side plates and the spacers were loose. This allowed the engine to partially suck one of the large O ring type seals into the engine. Hence a vacuum leak. I removed the fuel rails and side plates and replaced all of the O ring seals, I also replaced the injectors with new pencil type 4 nozzle injectors.

While installing the passenger fuel rail, I dropped a 10mm 1/4" drive socket between the #1 and #2 cylinder under the intake. I will try to use an boroscope that attaches to my phone and a magnet to try to retrieve it. It was my only 10mm 1/4" drive socket and I have to have it to install the fuel rail.

Vacuumed the interior, then packed the Frenzy PA gear in the car along with some other Frenzy materials. Ready to drop off at Odds & Ends tomorrow afternoon.

Finally got the contis mounted on some 16x7 911 fuchs. Larger wheel, gained 10mm of section, and still saved 4.2 pounds per corner! FWIW, the wheels came in at 14.4 pounds, not the 18 that's usually listed. Still some center caps though.

Well...it actually happened yesterday, and I didn't do it. Sean and Stan replaced the original fuel hoses with Greg Brown's hoses. Pictures will be posted in the Frenzy thread. It was an outstanding tech session. It took them less than an hour to replace all the hoses...including the speed bump of having to remove the fuel pressure regulator with bracket because a screw was facing in a direction they couldn't reach otherwise.

1. Disassembled the 4 way mirror switch and R/L selector and cleaned with Deoxit. Result: Working side view mirrors

2. Topped off coolant and oil

3. After seeing alarming white vapor coming from under the hood, re-installed the coolant reservoir cap (found on top of the intake).

All is well!

Removed my air conditioner compressor - not the quick job I thought.
Not looking forward to refitting it, but hopefully with a working clutch and seal kit I'll be cool in the Aussie summer.

I like that clock! Is that an available product, or did you fit a custom item in there?

I made it using a £5 eBay clock and some leather I had left over. Removable Mini Luminous Auto Car Kit Quartz Clock In Car Decor Small Gift Black
the clock pops out of the bulbous black bit on the back, so it's like a watch without the strap. Draw round the dash clock hole, cut thick cardboard to fit, make hole to seat clock in, add layer of scrim foam for extra depth, cover with leather, make hole in foam and leather and mount clock in hole. Then mount the whole lot on another piece of thick card which is bigger than the dash hole, and push it in from behind, as per the original clock. Total cost: £7.30.

Slightly off topic. How do you like your Continental radio? Do you like the orange lighting in the car how about the BT quality, ease of use and sound quality. Any installation issues? Does the USB support charging?

Following the excellent session from this year's frenzy, I rolled back my sunroof, cleaned the tracks top and bottom, sprayed a bit of silicone fluid on a paper towel, wiped down the tracks, ran the sunroof closed then open (slow), then wiped everything off again and applied a thin coating of white lithium grease.

Sunroof now opens and closes perfectly. Thanks guys!

Next up will be fixing the speakers with spares I got at frenzy, then maybe swapping the rear rotors with a new set I picked up at yep, frenzy.
