Both of the C-clips on the headlight lift mechanism were in place, but they were too easy to remove. Installed the locking clips and oiled the arm joints.
My LH, is in Oregon, at Ott's Performance. Figured I'd clean the grounds while I'm waiting on return mail.
There's a bunch of oil in the Valley under the intake. I think, maybe the pipe from the blower, has lifted the filler neck, or the hoses under there are mush. Gotta check that out ASAP.
Sound like my son. We just did the fuel lines, busy with the a/c, and I want to remove the front suspension to clean everything.
And then there are brakes and a fluid flush.
Getting the Velvet Hammer ready for 3rd Coast next month. Today, an oil & filter change using Mobil 1 15W-50 along with a differential fluid change using Redline 75W-90NS. Up next - a visit to Sean Ratts for an ATI harmonic damper install along with timing belt/H2O pump change, brake fluid and PSD flush.
Today I lifted the front end, adjusted the LHD wheel bearing and cleaned the wheel wells with hot water and a lot of dish soap. Wheel wells look so much better!
I beat the she-it out of a turbo diesel sleeper pickup truck stop light to ...., I know, I know, I didn't actually work on my car today, but I did drive it.
One of the previous owners of my 88 S4 installed a bunch of stuff from Jager Engineering including the 928 LED Gauge Illumination Kit (78-88) which offers pretty nice illumination but the blue color the PO choose is very cool and disco colored and I wanted to revert my interior back to stock.
Here is a shot from the Jager site and mine side-by-side
The kit replaces the OEM prism wedges with special ones cut for a LED bulb. Depending on the color you want they just put in a different color LED. I tried to have Jager Eng sell me just the LED but they would not do that. I was looking at new kit for $90. I did some research for alternatives and found this replacement LED: Wired 12V DC LED Pack which seems to be nearly identical to the product used by Jager.
